Yorkie's POV.

I walked back into the Cafe. My apron was still hanging up from before when Angie and I swapped shifts. I had been working on school work with a close friend when I realized something, it was time for my friend to go home. So my best friend and I parted ways, now I'm in the cafe. I saw my sister collecting glasses. "Where were you?" Angie asked.
"With Sparky!" I chirped.
"Of course," Angie sarcastically muttered.
"Anyways what should we do?" I asked. I watched as Mac came into the room sighing. I smirked at her in amusement. "Ooooooo someone's been shot with Cupid's arrow," I teased.
"Sh-shut u-up," Mac stuttered.
"Sh-sh-shut u-u-u-up," I repeated adding more stutter as a small joke.
"Seriously though the boys want to hang out with us. Come on!" Mac exclaimed.
"Nah I need to do schoolwork," I told her. I had 4 books to go through. I really can't get a break, can I?! It's a shame. I really want to hang out with Courfeyrac. I really like him. I'm not in love or anything! But we're just- just- just- just friends. Yeah, just friends. I started to highlight key facts about when Ireland was discovered. I needed help with it but Mac must be with 'her Enjy' so she couldn't help. Why did we have to learn about Ireland?! I mean I want to study about the Tudors! Not the Irish. I put the book down and pushed it across the table. I grabbed my note-book and started to write. It was the life story of Katherine Howard. My favorite wife of Henry VIII. I love her story! It's so interesting and tragic. I looked in the mirror and saw that my hair was fluffy all over again. I frowned at how messy it had become. It had only been tamed 10 minutes again. I ran my fingers through it and tried my hardest to sort it out. No luck. Then I heard the door open. I looked up from my book and saw Sparky. A smile spread across my face. I ran up to her and smiled. This was my closest friend. Sparky Natasha Barton.

Sparky was disabled. That wasn't something I ever took advantage of. Sparky was in a wheelchair. She had been diagnosed with polio when she was born. Well, I say diagnosed but she was born with it. Her mother had died and her father left them when she was younger. She had 1 older sister and 5 younger siblings. She did most of the work. Never got work done. Barely anyways. Her older sister works for money while Sparky does many jobs. Sparky cooks for her family, cleans, gets the younger ones to sleep, always rocks the baby to sleep, gets her schoolwork again, gets the younger kids' homework done, and still manages to sleep. But barely. It's a shame because the wheelchair holds her back. Yet she always gives 250% and always keeps a smile on her face. "Hey Yorkie," Sparky muttered.
"Hey, Sparky are you still doing okay?" I asked.
"Of course don't worry," Sparky told me with a smile. I don't know if she was lying though.
"Do you want to meet the barricade boys?" I asked.
"Meet more people?" Sparky asked quickly. "I-I'll pass," she stuttered. I frowned.
"That's okay Sparks. Maybe in a few days," I reckoned. I understood that Sparky had major social anxiety and was insecure about herself. I was always there for her. "Are you sure Sparks?" I asked. Sparky went silent for a few minutes. This scared me. Was Sparky okay? Was she facing problems? "No. I-I-I'll meet them," Sparky told me smiling.
"Sure?" I questioned.
"Sure," Sparky said nodding.
"Okay, do you want me to push you?" I asked my best friend.
"No. I'm a stron- indipendent woman! I can push myself," Sparky said before wheeling herself towards the door. I frowned at how she cut off saying strong. She didn't want to say that she was strong. Is she okay? But I pushed every thought aside because I had moved towards the door already. Sparky pushed open the door and we walked in together.
What would the boys think of Sparky?
