"Is she ready?" A male voice asks as he enters the room, his voice echoing off the cement walls. I don't know the identity of the man but I recognize that he's the head honcho of wherever I was taken since he was the one calling all the shotsI pull against my restraints, desperate to break free and run as far away as I possibly can. But they got smarter from the last time and now doubled up on the tough leather straps. With a band over my: shins, thighs, hips, ribs, arms and wrists there's no possible way to free myself or wiggle out of them
My entire body ached with every movement, even just looking around the enormous room caused pain behind my eyes. It felt like every cell in all my muscles were expanding ten times their size and my skin was as fragile as thin glass
Sweat coated my entire body like an extra layer of skin, and no matter how much you tried wiping it away, it would just reappear instantly. My clothes stuck to me uncomfortably, sweat stains along the neckline and underarms of the shirt I was given. Shorter strands of my hair clung to my forehead that I wish I could swipe them away and out of my vision
"Please just let me GO!" I scream, throwing my head back into the operating bed they had me strapped to. The heavy metal contraption they placed around my neck scratching my collarbone while I pathetically thrash my body around in desperation
"Neutralize her!" Another man spoke, his European accent thick
I try to look around at the men now circling around me but it's like I'm underwater with my eyes open. Everything extremely blurry and nothing is standing still, not even the walls. One of the men in a white coat turns slightly, only to return with something large in his hands and moves closer to me
"Relax soldier.." his hot coffee breath stinging my nostrils as he leaned closer and stabs my arm, injecting the clear liquid
My body ignites into flames as the needle pierces my flesh and a blood curdling scream rips its way up and out of me, echoing off the walls of the room. The pain is too much for me to handle and I start whispering for the sweet release of death as that would be much better than everything that's happening to me right now
And that was just the sedative.
The doctor moves away, placing the now empty syringe on a tray, and they all stare at me as my body goes limp but my eyes and mind stay awake
"What... what the hell are you doing to me..." I croak out, my voice cracking since my throat is dry and raw from the screaming
The leader of the group finally walked over to where I lay in the middle of the room, dressed in what appeared to be all black stealth combat uniform. His flesh melted and burned to him as if he was caught in a fire at one point with red scar lines and indents all over his face. His short black greasy hair combed back and his facial hair permanently singed to him. His eyes were permanently bloodshot and one of his eyebrows were melted off. A truly ugly human, inside and out. Then he attempted to smile at me but he hardly had any lips
He grabbed something behind him before turning around holding another syringe. As he got closer I could just barely see the black sludge-like substance swirling around inside the vial. Small, almost the size of glitter, specs of purple would flash for a nano of a second throughout the entire tube. I thought I was hallucinating when I first saw it but the mans wicked smile proves I wasn't seeing things
"We're making you better." The man spoke in a hushed raspy tone. I wanted to flinch away, to fight back, to do anything and stop this

Hard to Love (Bucky Barnes fanfic)
FanfictionA/N: first few chapters are a bit 'cringy' with spelling errors (I write this on my phone) but if you can get past those two things, I PROMISE the story and writing get better. Will be doing heavy editing/construction once the book is complete Agent...
