A/N: y'all I STRUGGLED with this chapter trying to capture how Bucky would think and say but wanted to do another Bucky POV so here we are. Oop
Couldn't find who the artist is but full credit to them for the picture!Buckys POV
I knew what was in that taped up old box the moment Amelia opened one of the flaps. The little chirp of a cry from the kitten, had to be no older than four months. My blood boiled thinking about the bastard who simply chucked the box out a moving vehicle, on a fucking freeway
Amelia was kneeling, hunched over the box with my closed knife tossed in the snow next to her seemingly forgotten. A smile on her face with a few stray sappy tears rolling down her cheeks. As if I could feel the bitter sweet emotions flooding her like they were my own
She was so gentle, slow movements as if asking for permission from the kitten. Cooing at the thing with one hand inside the slowly growing wet from snow box
I follow her footsteps in the snow, trying not to stumble and fall because her stride was smaller than mine. Wind blowing in every direction, whipping up the flurries we kicked loose and stinging my face. Now only a few feet from her, I watch as she pulls out a small white furry creature. High pitched whines coming from it with a puff from the cold air
"Sh sh sh, I gotcha sweetie," Amelia zips open the top of her jacket and slips the tiny kitten inside for warmth, holding the fabric together to shield from the wind but still allow fresh air to the fragile cat
She sniffles as she shakily grabs my knife from the snow and stands. Making sure to secure the animal. "Bucky look-" she states, walking over to me slowly and flashing the curled up fuzz ball at the top of her breasts
"She's trembling. We gotta get home to warm her up." Amelia closes her jacket once more, looking up at me with glossy eyes
I sigh, looking between the lump under her coat and the discarded Alpine Christmas Tree box. "Maybe we should take it to a shelter, they can take care of it better."
Amelia frowns, her brows pulling together tightly as her eyes flash with disbelief. "What? No. No way, she is coming home with us." She shakes her head at me
"Doll I don't think we need a pet right now. And they can give her any nutrients or whatever she needs."
Honestly, I'd be fine with bringing the little guy home. Might keep me company and even distract me. My only fear is that she's malnourished or has some kind of sickness that will only end in a heartbreaking tragedy. Amelia's been through enough recently, I don't want to add that possibility to her list
"We can do that too! I'll take her to the vet first thing tomorrow morning and—" she pauses as she meets my gaze. Lips slowly turning into a pout
"You said so yourself that you wanted a cat back in Wakanda." She argues, my neutral state beginning to crack
I did say that, didn't I
I pinch the bridge of my nose with another sigh. She was right and I was starting to cave in for her. Like I always do. The worse part was, she could tell. She could always tell
"You could think of it as practice." She continues
I give her a quizzical look, raising an eyebrow. "Practice?" I ask. She eagerly nods, gripping the unzipped fabric tighter
"Yeah! Practice raising a living thing. You know, for uhm.." suddenly becoming flustered and stumbling over her words. Looking everywhere but me and voice becoming small. It was adorable when she got like this

Hayran KurguA/N: first few chapters are a bit 'cringy' with spelling errors (I write this on my phone) but if you can get past those two things, I PROMISE the story and writing get better. Will be doing heavy editing/construction once the book is complete Agent...
