Chapter 76

"I've been reading nothing but newly wed magazines and articles, they all say to find a dress ASAP incase it needs to be altered." I state into my phone that's tucked between my shoulder and ear. Currently holding a bag of groceries in one hand and digging out my keys from my pocket with the other

"How many places did Pepper reserve?" Nat asks on the other line

"Five, for today at least. But there's more on standby if Mel doesn't find the one." Wanda answers for me

The three of them are currently on their way over so we can start looking for a wedding dress. Hence why I'm rushing to finish my groceries and get ready

"Jeez that's a lot of dresses." Nat sighs out

I roll my eyes at her remark, setting the bag of food on the kitchen counter once I was inside. "Yes because sitting in a cushy chair sipping free drinks is so exhausting." I tease

Heavy footsteps catch my attention and I glance over just as Bucky emerges from the basement stairwell. His black shirt slightly sweaty with a few smears of dirt/dust from him working down there. We both haven't done much with the basement, only going down there to do laundry, so Bucky made it his next project. Washing the walls, cleaning the floors, fixing any pipes that need to be replaced, prepping the main large room to be turned into another living space

I give him a smile as he nears, turning the phone away from me. "Hey love," I greet, reaching up and kissing him. "Would you mind putting these away? The girls are almost here and I need to change." I ask as I walk past him to the exit the kitchen

Bucky sighs in amusement, mumbling 'I just came up for water' behind me. I toss a 'thanks' over my shoulder before bounding up the stairs to our bedroom

"You know we're only a few minutes out, right?" Pepper points out as I put the call on speaker

"Yeah I know, I'll be ready by the time you get here." I state, putting my phone on the dresser and digging out a clean pair of black skinny jeans and plain white button up blouse

I'm not exactly sure what to wear to these kind of things but I know Pepper picked out fancier boutiques so, can't exactly show up in sweatpants and a t-shirt

"Turning onto your street now." Wanda announces a minute later. I run a brush through my hair and do a quick touch up to my makeup before grabbing my phone and bounding back down the stairs

"Putting my shoes on, I'll see you in a sec." the call ends and I slip my phone in my back pocket

Shoving my black sneakers on, Bucky peaks around the corner of the kitchen. I grab my house keys before lightly jogging over to him, "I gotta bolt but I'll see you for dinner." I lean up and give him another quick kiss. "Love you!"

Bucky grins with a shake of his head, watching me jog out the front door. "Love you too." He calls after me

I shut the door just as a white Rolls-Royce pulls into the driveway. Pepper waves at me from the passenger seat as the driver steps out to open the back door for me. I thank him, sliding in the back next to Wanda with Nat on the other side of her. For a full car, there was quite a bit of room so we weren't squished or cramped
