A New Journey
...
Entering into the Bureau Abhijeet found Tasha standing near the window lost in her thoughts. Abhijeet could understand her situation very well and its her first time so the stress was more. He could feel it. But apart from the stress and tension Abhijeet couldn't help but notice a different kind of worriness on her face. She looked dull and tensed. Abhijeet was wanting to ask her from yesterday but he couldn't find a chance to initiate the topic and not to mention she was intimidating him too for whatever he had done with her friend. He knew, Tasha blamed him souly. He didn't mind though. Because he knew he's the one to be blamed anyways.
"Tasha." He called her name gently.
Startled with the sudden call Tasha turned around quickly.
"Yes sir." She said, with professionalism.
"The reports are sent to HQ?"
"Yes sir."
"Good."
Tasha nodded with a smile. Abhijeet scratched his forehead in an attemot to show her his interest to talk to her.
"Tasha.. Umm, I have been noticing you look worried nowadays. Is everything alright? You know you can talk to me. I know every first is stressful but I have total faith in you. That's why I have suggested your name. You will be fine. Be confident."
"I am really happy sir that you think me worth of this. I am looking forward to the mission eagerly." Tasha said with a rueful smile.
"You sure?"
"Of course sir."
"You doesn't look happy though." Abhijeet commented.
"There's nothing like that sir." Tasha looked at her fingers to avoid his gaze.
"Is it about your friend?" Abhijeet asked.
Tasha looked away.
"Tasha," Abhijeet paused for a while, "She will be fine. She's a strong girl. I am sure she will accept the reality."
"Yeah, she is." Tasha nodded not wanting to carry on the conversation.
"Can I ask you a personal question?" Abhijeet asked, hesitated.
"Hmm.." Tasha nodded.
"Why didn't you stop your friend?" Abhijeet asked, helpless.
Tasha chuckled. She did, didn't she? But emotions never listened, did they? It just happened. When Tarika herself couldn't control her emotions how was she supposed to do that for her. The only thing Tasha was sad about, she would rather loved to be proven wrong with her assumption of her being getting hurt by him. Although she knew there's no room of her being proven wrong. Still, she wished. She hoped.
"I.. I tried sir." Tasha said, not looking at his face.
Abhijeet nodded.
"Do you blame me?" Abhijeet asked with a soft voice.
"What's there to blame? You can't force someone to like you." Tasha chuckled.
