A New Journey

Two days later,
Tarika parked her car in parking lot of Mumbai CID Bureau and when she came out she was shocked to see Robbie there, waiting for her. In a trance she walked towards him.
"You here?" She asked, surprised.
"Yeah."
"How did the guard let you in?"
"It was pretty hard. I said I am your friend."
"Oh okay. So..."
"You weren't picking up my phone."
"I am tired of explaining you Robbie." Tarika said, helplessly.
"Me too. Why are you so stubborn?"
"Why are You so stubborn?"
"Because you are worth of it." Robbie said with affection.
"Robbie.. "
"Listen Tarika, at least give me a try. I will never ever disturb you if you say no after that. We will just hangout and talk."
"Robbie," Tarika sighed, "why..."
"I have tried to not think about you but I failed. I like you very much Tarika. "
Tarika remembered how she pleaded Abhijeet to give her a chance before rejecting her feelings. She felt bad for Robbie. But she just couldn't agree with his proposal. This would be cheating with his emotions. Her heart still belonged to Abhijeet completely. She needed time. Robbie was nice but she didn't feel anything for him. But he's trying so hard. How could she be so rude with him?
"Tarika, you don't have to answer right away. In fact don't answer me in next few weeks even. Just talk to me and hangout with me. Will you?"
"Robbie..."
"It's my birthday today. I want to start it today."
"Happy birthday." Tarika said.
"Thanks. But I need my gift."
"I know what do you mean. But, is it okay if I call you later?"
"To say you are coming to dinner with me or not?" Robbie looked excited.
"You sound like a teenager." Tarika smiled. "Okay. But just 'cause its your birthday "
"Thank you so so much. This will be the best birthday gift ever for me." Robbie said, holding her hands.
Tarika smiled.
"I.. am getting late." Tarika said.
"Oh, yeah." He left her hands. "I have to go too. Take care. Let me know. I will be waiting for your call."
"Sure. Bye."
Robbie left. Tarika shook her head and left the parking area unknown to the presence of another person who's listening to them.
