Draco and I have been back together for three weeks now. So far it's been really peaceful. Oh and I got my diploma last week.
"Slow down eating, Princess. There's plenty to go around."
"I'm really hungry" I had the worst stomach ache last night
"That reminds me, I need to know why you weren't feeling Well, I'm taking you to the doctor."
"I'm fine, and I'm too tired. Plus you need to go to work today"
"Fine. After work, then." Draco leaves, pressing a kiss to my forehead and a lingering kiss on my lips.
"Alex, a word in the kitchen?" Jo asks
"Yeah, sure"
"Have you considered, what's making you sick"
"I'm sure it was bad chinese food or something"
"And you've been on the pill?" She asks
"Yes. When we I've been on the pill, except one time, but-"
"You might be pregnant, mi cheré"
"I can't be. I lost track of my period, and I know it was late. I thought it was from not taking the pill"
"Alex, calm down honey, stress is not good for you. And you need to take a test to see if you are or not"
"Okay. You're right. I need to go to the store, I'll have Patty take me." The air had just escaped my lungs. I just need to breathe.
"Sit down for now, I'll tell Patricia to go to the store and get what you need. Relax, It's going. To be ok"
30 minutes later Patty was back, handing me a pregnancy test. I go to the bathroom, I just stare at the package a while before opening. I pee on the stick, and wait for it. I take a deep breath before viewing the result. Positive. Holy fucking shit. I'm pregnant.
It seems like months before Draco walks in the door.
"Hey, Princess, are you ready to go?"
"No, I need to tell you something" my knees feel weak
" What is it ?" His face turns serious and I feel so small, I can feel all the color draining from my face. I fidget with my hands.
"I'm pregnant."
"What?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean too- but…"
"Are you Sirius?" He grins
"Yes"
"How are you feeling?"
"I don't know. I'm terrified, amazed, so damn overwhelmed"
"What do you mean?" he raises a brow quizzically
"This is insane, I'm only 18, I was supposed to go to college, I'm not ready to be a mother. What the fuck am I supposed to do?"
"So I think the doctors can wait, we can make an over the phone appointment" He clears his throat coldly
"What's the matter?"
"We made a baby, you and me, and clearly you don't want that."
"I'm not saying that, I want it. We have a chance to create the family I wished I had. I'm just scared of screwing up my life, a child's life!"
"I'm terrified too. I've already fucked up your life! I don't want to do that to you again or our child. I love you, and I just wanna make everything better."
"I love you too." I cup his face, reaching up to kiss him
1 week later
"I can't believe it. A baby" Thalia says over the phone
"How am I going to tell Kael, and my mom"
"No clue. You're in deep shit"
"Thalia! I need solutions"
"Invite them for dinner, try to smooth things over?"
"That might work. I know Kael, I'll have to help him control his anger. Anyway thanks for the Idea, I should start with that. Tell Katie I said hi"
"Anytime, I'm here" she hangs up. I stroll down the stairs.
"Draco" I call out "I need-"
"What do you need, love ?"
"To ask you something."
"What is it?"
"I want to tell my mom and my brother and my mom maybe my father. I was hoping we could invite them for dinner?"
"Lex, you sure?"
"Yes"
"Ok princess, if that's what you want".
Family Dinner
We all sit in an awkward science. Kael, Mom, Draco, and my… father.
"So, I have news" everyone dropped their forks and stopped eating their stakes.
"I'm Pregnant"
"It's Malfoy's? Wow. And here I thought she was just your plaything. Now, she's the mother of your child" Kael says with venom
"You're getting rid of it, correct?" My father asks firmly
"No. That's not what I want" I cross my arms tightly around my chest.
"You, are too young, you're going to screw up" I am two minutes away from slapping this bastard.
"Henry, I know she's young. She's capable of doing right by her family. She's been so strong and independent. I know she's going to be everything I wasn't. She's strong enough to stand up to you."She leaves my dad floored
"I think it's time for me to leave" he waddles away awkwardly from the table.
"I think that would be most appropriate" Draco spits calmly
"Thank you, mom"
"It's true, I should be there to support you. I wasn't before. Now I'm going to be a grandmother, maybe things can be different for your child" I nod holding my stomach "And you if you treat my daughter, or my grandbaby badly, you will be shown no mercy."
"Oh that's not a problem your daughter accepts nothing but the best, and I'm confident it will be the same with our child"
"Damn straight. Draco is my world, but now, this little one is my everything. Our everything" I peer to Draco who's beaming with pride.
"So I guess I'm having a niece or nephew. You'd better do right by them, Draco. Lex, I'm sorry. I know you will be fantastic."
"Thanks Kay. I love you both so much. I can't change the past, or make you understand, but I can be better for you, for my little boy or girl in there."
"We forgive you now, we don't want to lose you or the baby. I want to help you through this. Motherhood is difficult, I know you'll do just fine. I need you to remember that." My mom advises
"This is not a sap fest. Take care fetus." Kael snorts playfully, rubbing my stomach. A gentle smile creeps up on my face, and I let out a hearty laugh. I give them both a hug they greet Draco, and eventually leave.
