Kael's P.O.V
I woke up in the hospital, been here for three weeks in this place. I don't have time for this. I don't even remember what put me in here, and I don't care. Today I'm being released. Drug charges my ass. I had a little weed on me.
Nothing has been the same since I came back. Alex went missing, mom has been home moping around, Grandpa Gerald died so Grandma is taking care of mom.
The police think Alex ran away, so they have barely done shit. I don't know what was going on with her, but I don't think she could do that. No one can help me. I need to see Malfoy, he said something about Alex before. Plus, I just need someone right now.
I rush out of the hospital, careful not to be seen. I frantically cross the street. I dial Draco's phone number.
Alex P.O.V
"Hey, man,thanks for visiting the other day. Can you pick me up?" I hear my brother's voice towards
"Yeah, where are you?"
"I'm on the corner of Diagon and Alley by the hospital"
"Alright" Malfoy straightens his shoulders "be there soon"
"Thanks, Draco." He chokes back a sob. "I appreciate it. It's been really hard you know with Alex gone."
"No problem, mate" he hangs up "I'll be back"
"Wait, just please don't hurt him. I'll write a letter or something, tell him I ran away. He'll stop looking for me."
"Fine" He leaves the room coming back with my phone "leave a message"
"You kept my phone?"
"Just do it."
"Fine. Kael this is Alex. I'm. Sorry Kay. I had to get away from there. I love you. Please, just stop looking for me, I'm not coming back. I did too many things that I regret. Tell the Golden duo, Marcus and Thalia I'm ok. Also tell Marcus I'm sorry about that one time, he'll know what it means. I'm so sorry" I end the message knowing how pissed Kay will be. He's gonna stop trying to find me. I couldn't risk his life. Not an option. Ever.
"Give me it" Malfoy instructs, I do, and he breaks it. Well, I'm fucked. This is a shitty situation.
"I'll be back soon. Stay in your room, don't make noise or else" I nod going to my room. 40 minutes later I hear Kael's voice. I want to scream. I'm here, help. I stay silent, paralyzed. A tear rolls down my cheek and I fall asleep.
I'm awoken by a gentle hand.
"Dinners ready!" Patty exclaims
"How long have I been asleep?"
"Four hours"
"Shit" I rub my eyes. "Thanks, Patty" I trudge downstairs to the dining room.
I sat at the dining table in an uncomfortable silence. I don't have anything in particular to say. I'm feeling overwhelmed with sadness, rage, etc.
"He heard your message" I don't want to know. "He was thoroughly upset, to say the least"
"Great. No I actually don't even have the energy care" lie. I'm pissed the fuck off, but mostly broken inside. I just need someone to hold me.
"Anyway, he agreed to stop."
"Good." At this point, finding a way out was hopeless. He needs to move on with his life, regardless of what happens in mine. I sigh.
"Since you have been good, I just might reward you, Princess" He announces sitting up proudly
"What is it?" I ask looking up curiously
"It's a surprise."
"Tell me, I'm too impatient"
"You'll see" he muses. A couple minutes later we dismiss ourselves from the table. He blindfolds me. "Do you trust me, Princess?" He asks. Hell no.
"No."
"The only way this is going to work is if you trust me"
"Fine" I smile unexplainably "I trust you."
"Okay. Good, follow me" He leads me by the arm, I hear the door click. I smell someting sweet like honey ad flowers. I smell freshly- cut grass. I'm outside?
"Im-"
"Yes you're outside, Princess." He removes the blindfold with one hand while still holding my wrist in place. This must be the backyard. It's huge. There's even a pool.
"It's beautiful." I say looking around at the array of flowers. It appears to be a fairly remote area. Even more prominent is the red, orange and golden leaves on each tree.
"You like it?" He smiles genuinely
"I love it!" I exclaim, taking in the sheer beauty
"Here" he pulls me into the grass. He holds me by my waist from behind me. "Ok, what are you most afraid of?"
"Hmm… not spiders, heights, or death, I don't know"
"No one is truly fearless, except for me. So what is it?"
"You first." He hesitantly looks at me before speaking
"I'm afraid of becoming my father" He gulps
"I'm most afraid of being a bad person. In my mind I'm the villain of my own story."
"That's not true though, you are not a bad person. Wish I could say the same for myself." He shrugs
"My turn. What's something you've always wanted to do but didn't?"
"Hmm. Let loose, go dancing, I've never done that my whole life has been about working to achieve successes. And you?"
"Probably travel. I've never really been anywhere."
"I could take you, I know plenty of places, Paris, Venice, Tokyo, London" He gleams
"Wow, you've been to all those places?"
"Yeah." I rest my head on his chest, he. Starts tickling me.
"Nooo… st-op" I giggle so hard my gut hurts
"Your laugh is rather adorable" he leans over me
"Thank y-" I'm cut off by our lips locking. He kisses me differently than usual. This kiss is slow and tender. I savor it, as his tongue penetrates my mouth. Electricity courses through my veins. I slowly cup his face as he straddles me. I want more, but I pull away for air. I stare into his steady grey orbs.
"I thought you said there would never be anything of substance."
"Shut up" I shouldn't feel this way. He hurt Kay. As much as I hate to admit it, I felt good. I feel better, my sadness drifted away.
This time I initiated the kiss. He holds me by the waist and I by his neck. We just make out. Nothing more and nothing less. He holds me, I feel safe from everything around me including him. He's the enemy, the cause of my pain, yet a source of comfort and safety. Dangerous yet alluring.
