Across the fields of green grass, rivers that travel for miles, and mountains that cut like knives in the sky, the snow and ice would be melting. But there's nothing frozen here. Just a cloudy day and a gentle chilly breeze, a day I can easily get inspiration.

Go on, but you'll only leave yourself in pain.

Ooh I like the sound of that. I sloppily wrote that down on a plain notebook that contained other random crap. I didn't just use this journal for writing, I used it for drawing too sometimes. And yes, there is a drawing of Tamra dressed up like a duck. Oh I'm so hilarious.

I looked out over the city of LA. It looked normal, with the sounds of cars rushing by and an occasional honk of a horn. "Man, I should head back home." I muttered. I stood up and tiredly stretched my back.

I began to run across the hill, stumbling as the dirt beneath me moved. It's going to take a long time if this keeps happening. And then it started raining, correction, pouring. I was drenched in a matter of seconds. "Shit, shit, shit." I cursed under my breath as I tried running on the now wet and slimy ground.

I can't see anything, only streaks of water that sting my eyes. Suddenly I crashed into a bush. And my face felt like it had been scraped a million times. I screamed as loud as I could but it ended up muffled because of the bush.

"Is this some trespasser?" I heard a voice yell. "How many times do I have to tell you, leave me the fuck alone or I'm calling the cops!"

"S-Sorry ma'am." I said as loud as I could. "But I'm stuck."

"Get out of my bush!" she yelled and kicked me in the chest, I fell to the ground in pain. I struggled to get back up after I was now weak in my knees. I stumbled and tumbled my way away from that crazy lady's house.

"This can't get any worse right?" I asked sarcastically.

Just then a woman who looked a lot like Katy ran up with an umbrella. "Come with me." she whispered.

"I can't see a thing," I whimpered quietly.

"I know," she said placing her hands on my shoulder as a guide.

After a bit of walking, we finally were indoors. "Lemme get a towel." Katy said as she dashed off. I sighed, I was drenched in rainwater with scratches on my face and probably a bruised chest.

This couldn't get any worse right? Unless our house blows up, yeah that's so likely Tess. "I'm back." Katy said as she began to wipe my face off.

"Ow!" I cringed as she was rubbing against the scratches by my eyes.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"I have scratches on my face, it hurts." I whimpered like a puppy. I opened my eyes, she stared at me with a solemn, dark look.

"Are you allergic to rain or something?" she giggled. I smirked slightly and shook my head. She began to dry my hair. "So what happened to your face?"

"I..." I started to say. "I fell into a bush," I ended the sentence.

"That's all?" she asked as she grabbed another dry towel.

"No," I cleared my throat. "Someone kicked me in the chest."

"What?!"

"Look it's no big deal-"

"No big deal Teresa!?"

"I said, don't call me that!" I yelled angrily. I looked down and looked back up at Katy. "I'm sorry..."

"It's fine." she nodded. "Take your shirt off."

"Um..." I raised a brow. "Excuse me?"

She sighed, putting her hands on her hips. "I didn't mean it like that." she chuckled. "I just wanted to see if there's a bruise."

"Oh, I think it's fine erh mom..." I said sheepishly. She beamed at my comment. She's proud I trust her enough to call her mom. I don't blame her, the past four or five months, she's dedicated herself more than my biological mom did.

"I think you're fine, injury wise, the scratches are barely noticeable. You'll be fine once you change." Katy said, studying me.

I ran upstairs to my room. Thank god I can take off my drenched clothing. I threw all my wet clothes in the bathtub and changed into some sweats and a sweater. "Much better." I sighed and brushed my hair.

After about ten minutes I made my way downstairs. The TV was on, and Katy was staring at it, head on. "What're you watching?" I asked. No answer. "I said, what're you watching?" I said again a little louder.

Her body was shaking, like she was in great shock. "Hey, what's up?" I walked over to her and grabbed her arm. She won't budge. I looked at the TV and my jaw dropped. Everything around me became fuzzy. This isn't real. My jaw dropped and a wail escaped my mouth.

They found out. All of them, they know our secret.
