Chapter 5

The three of us pretty much spent the day snacking on Doritos and watching reruns of Pretty Little Liars. To be honest I hated that show, but I always thought Lucy Hale was really cute.

Tamra left about an hour ago, leaving Katy and I still watching television. "To tell you the truth I'm actually A."

"Very funny Tess," Katy snorted.

"Well I'm tired of watching TV anyway, I'll go to bed." I got up yawning and headed towards the stairs. "Night Katy!" I called from the second floor.

"Sleep well Tess!" She called back.

I entered the bedroom with the balcony in it, throwing on a tee shirt and sweat pants. I climbed into bed and looked out the window near the balcony. I could feel my eyes droop than I'm pretty sure I was out cold.

"Wake up..." Someone whispered.

"No,"

"Please Tess... wake up."

I opened my eyes a little bit, "Huh!? Where am I?"

"At my house silly." Katy smirked. Her hair was in two pigtail braids and an oversized T-shirt leaving her legs bare.

"Right..." I yawned as I rubbed my eyes, "I knew that."

"Are you hungry?"

"Yeah, I'll take whatever you want to eat."

"Okay," Katy smiled as she left the room. I sighed, flopping down on my bed once more.

I looked over at the nightstand next to me, "There's my phone." I whispered. "I should call Avery to tell her I'm okay, she's probably worried sick."

I grabbed my phone, turning it on and unlocking it. I began scrolling through my contacts to look for Avery's number, I quickly clicked her contact and called her.

"Uh.. hello? OH MY GOD TESS!" Avery shouted as she answered the phone up. "Where the hell are you? I haven't seen you in a week!"

"I got put in a child center, you know those adoption places?"

"Yeah I know what you're talking about, you still at the child center?"

"No... I got adopted." I said quietly.

"What!? By who?" Avery squealed gleefully.

"You're going to think I'm insane when I tell you." I say quietly.

"No I'm not Tess! You can trust me."

"Okay fine, I got adopted by... Katy Perry."

Avery was silent for a second, I was waiting for her to burst out laughing at any moment.

"That's every girl's fucking teenage dream Tessie, even I'm jealous!" Avery giggled.

"Great... So you're not mad?" I asked nervously.

"What!? No! Oh when are you coming back to school by the way?"

"Uh... I have to ask Katy."

"You're going to be a celebrity at Westshore! Wow!"

I frowned suddenly panicking, "No Avery! Don't tell anyone please!"

"Oh, you sure? That's okay, I respect your family privacy."

"Yeah, um I'll text you later Avery. I kind of have some stuff to take care of."

"Bye Tess!" She quickly said, before hanging up. I placed my phone back on the nightstand then walked out of the door. I could hear clanging of pots and pans downstairs and then a loud cry, "Shit!"
