It's crazy how big LA really is. I felt like I could fit five Virginias in the city and it still wouldn't be big enough. The windows on Katy's car are huge, allowing me to see everything. I noticed we started going uphill, probably to where all the celebrities lived.

The faint sound of Taylor Swift's Blank Space came from the radio speakers. I'm surprised Katy hadn't turned it off. Aren't those two having a bit of... bad blood?

"Why aren't you changing the station?"
I asked Katy.

She shrugged, "Well I like this song, why? Do you not like Taylor Swift?"

"Nono I do, it's just uh... Never mind."

She smirked, lightly slapping my shoulder, "Tell me Tess, and I may let you pick your room when we get to our house."

"Wow, okay. Apparently you and Taylor have bad blood-"

"You believe the bullshit that the press throw out!?" Katy interrupted, giving a very hearty chuckle.

"How am I supposed to know if it's true or not? Geez!" I huffed.

"Whatever," She said yawning.

I noticed the homes started becoming mansions as we entered the residential area. "So this is where all the rich folk live in LA, huh."

"Not all of them do, but this is an area where mostly celebrities and big ass business men do." Katy said, corrected me.

"Watch the language Perry, or I may have to shove some soap down your fucking throat."

"Please don't address me that way, alright?" She replied solemnly.

"Sorry," I sighed.

The car pulled to a stop in the driveway of a huge modern house. Everything seemed so clean but yet empty on the inside. Katy lived by herself right? So I guess it's nice and peaceful for her. Or maybe she longed for company. I had so many questions and asking them seemed so impolite.

"Well we're here Tess, how do you like it so far?"

"It's quiet," I replied.

"Is that a bad thing, or-"

"No, I enjoy the sounds of silence."

She got out of the car and walked towards the trunk, probably to get all my belongings that was untouched during the attack. I don't know how my parents died if my house was left untouched. It'll always be a mystery I guess.

"Hey Tess! Quit being lazy and help me with all your stuff." Katy shouted from the back of the car.

I sighed, opening the door of her car. I walked over to the trunk and grabbed a few bags. "Good girl," She said grinning.

We made our way towards the door. "Shit, now I have to get my keys." Katy mumbled. As if God heard her, the door opened.

"Oh Katy! Let me help you with those bags, goodness girl did you go on a shopping spree?" A young woman said with short hair said as she grabbed the bags out of Katy's hands.

"Thanks Tamra," Katy grinned.

Tamra looked over at me, studying my complexion. She turned to Katy, "Who's this?"

"Tess."

Tamra turned to me, "Katy wouldn't shut up about you for about a week! I'm Tamra, Katy's personal assistant by the way."

"That's why you look familiar." I chuckled as Tamra took the bags out of my hands.

I gently pushed past Tamra to look at the inside of Katy's house. Woah. It's humongous. The furniture looked so modern and well done, the wood flooring looked like it had just been polished. On the first floor there was a huge foyer that connected to a massive living room. There was a sliding glass door that led to the contemporary kitchen, with the dining room right by the door to the outdoor pool and patio that overlooked the whole city of LA.

There was a small library and writing room on the first floor, I guess Katy wrote there often. There were five bedrooms on the second floor all with connecting bathrooms. The master one was obviously Katy's. Two were left unoccupied. The first unoccupied bedroom had a balcony that was above a small floral garden. The second unoccupied bedroom had a closet with a trapdoor which led to a secret room, that Katy warned me never to go into.

The two other bedrooms were obviously used as storage. One of them looked as if a tornado came through with messy piles of clutter. The other bedroom was filled with guitars and other instruments, another room she probably used to write in.

"Even better on the inside, huh?" Katy said, who I suddenly realized was standing next to me after I had examined the whole house.

"Not bad," I shrugged.

"Admit that you like it."

"Make me."

I felt Katy pinch my arm, "Ow! What was that for?" I asked, rubbing my arm. She smirked and I sighed. "Fine, I admit I like the house..."

"Yay!" She started skipping around like a little girl. "I'll go get some snacks and we can all hang out!" She skipped towards the sliding glass door and entered the kitchen.

"She's a bit childish Tess," Tamra said grinning.

"No kidding," I giggled.

"Your stuff is upstairs, so you can unpack when you're ready."

"Thanks Tamra... Uh I'm guessing Katy wants you to hang out with us?"

Tamra laughed, guiding me towards the living room, "Of course she does, she'll throw a fit if I don't."

She switched the TV on, flipping through the channels, commenting on each one as she went by.

"Katy should watch this."

"No one fucking cares about Ebol- I'll shut up now."

"SpongeBob still exists!?"

"News, news everywhere.. Ooh it's raining in Arizona!"

"Disney Channel needs to seriously get better writers, or their stars will run off like Demi and Miley."

"Rerun of The Simpsons..."

"Get this Tess, they found out why the LA attack happened!"

"What!?" I exclaimed, watching the television closely. A male reporter began talking about the report.

"One week ago, terror filled the city of Los Angeles as what seemed to be a terrorist attack is now proven to be a tragic accident."

Tamra and I watched in silence as the reporter continued.

"What happened was a car accident at first when a 28 year old man hit two young teenagers and spun over to a nearby apartment building causing an explosion which led to several house fires and all casualties were due to the fires."

Tears began to form in my eyes. Accident or not my parents are dead and the truth won't help anything at all. "Are you alright Tess?" Tamra asked me.

"Hm? What's going on?" Katy asked, walking into the room with her hands filled with snacks. "Oh goodness Tess! Turn it off Tamra."

Tamra turned the TV off as fast as she could. Katy walked over, placing the snacks on the table. She sat down next to me and pulled me close into a tight , "It's okay Tess, it's all in the past now."

"I know Katy, but they're still gone and I can't forget them..."

"I know, I know... But I'm here for you." She cooed, gently stroking my hair.

"Always?"

"Always."
