ᏢᎾᎡᏟᎬᏞᎪᏆNY/n trailed her fingertips along the wall of the hallway, the floorboards creaking under her footsteps, the moon illuminating the darkened building.
It was eerily silent as she walked, the only sounds coming from herself, a cold sweat dripping down her face and the back of her neck.
Her body shook, not only from the cold but from the fearful feeling in her chest.
Cranking her neck to glance out the window, a cold draft blowing through the slightly broken frame, her eyes landed on the wall that loomed above the earth.
Her heart pounded against her ribs as the image of the colossal Titan appeared at the wall, maintaining eye contact with her, steam expelling from between its teeth.
Almost as soon as it came, the Titan was gone, leaving only stars twinkling in its place.
"Oh god..." her throat closed over as she continued to walk, raising a shaky hand to cover her mouth.
Awaking to the sound of shuffling footsteps, Petra blinked away her blurry vision and glanced to the door of her shared dorm room, seeing a shadow pass by rather quickly.
Curiously, she creeps out of bed, tip-toeing towards the door and creaking it open to peer her head out into the freezing cold hallway.
Glancing left to right, she notices someone round the corner in a hurry, their bare legs and hair clearly visible just before they left her sight.
"Y/n..?" She asks herself, rushing back to her bed and slipping into some slippers and pulling a blanket over her shoulders, quickly leaving the room to follow after her.
Petra's slippers padded gently on the floor as she wandered in the same direction y/n had gone, making her way down the creaking stairs and toward the kitchen, the crashing of porcelain drawing her toward the door.
Pushing the door open, she could see y/n hunched over the counter, her hands rest against the edge as a broken teacup was scattered across the floor, surrounding her bare feet.
"Y/n..?" Petra spoke, voice barely above a whisper, though, in the silence of the night it sounded more like a yell. "What's wrong? Are you all right?"
Petra furrowed her eyebrows worriedly as she looked at y/n's face, her eyes wide and bloodshot, her lips quivering from the cold.
"Oh, Petra.." her voice broke, causing her to cough. "Sorry, did I wake you?"
Petra shook her head dismissively, stepping forward and trying to a voice the sharp shards of porcelain.
"I'm a light sleeper, it's not your fault." She assured her, looking her up and down to see she was only in a shirt that went to her knees.
"Why are you up? Aren't you cold?"Y/n stayed silent for a moment, kicking and pursing her lips, adding to the swelling of them before she smiled widely.
"It's nothing!" She waved the girl off, reaching down to start picking up some of the remnants of the teacup, careful not to cut herself on the sharp edges. "Just a little nightmare, I'll be fine!"Petra clenched her fists tightly, gripping onto her blanket, growing deeply as she watched y/n clean up all of the broken teacup.
"Are you sure?" She asked again. "You look really upset..."
Y/n froze, her hands hovering over the last shard of porcelain before she quickly snatched up and walked to the bin, dropping all of the pieces into the metal can and brushing off her hands.
"I'm fine," Y/n affirmed, turning to fully face Petra and with a grin. "I was just going to get a cup of tea then go back to bed." She gave her a thumbs up.
Looking at the woman's hand, Petra could see how violently they were shaking from her position halfway through the kitchen door.
"You're not okay," she said firmly, marching forward and throwing the blanket over y/n's head and shoulders. "Sit down, I'll make you the tea."
Y/n's eyes widened as the warm blanket touched her skin, reaching up to clutch it tighter as she nodded, walking over to a stray chair across the room as Petra full a tea kettle and lit the stove.
Sitting down on the wooden chair, y/n looked at her legs, her usually smooth skin covered in scrapes and bruises, causing her to start trailing her fingers over the rough scabs.
"What was your nightmare about?" Petra asked, making her way over and sitting in another chair beside her.
"Wall maria." She whispered, starting to frown. "Mostly about the colossal."
Petra felt her lips part slightly as she thought of what to say, unsure of how to answer, but, luckily for her y/n continued.
"He was giant," she quivered. "It felt as if he was looking right at me...he had no skin either, only muscle."
Petra involuntary shivered, reaching out to place her hand on y/n shoulder.
"I'm so sorry you had to be there, it must have been awful.""That's just it," y/n glanced up and over at her. "I've literally been in the mouth of a Titan, inside a Titan's stomach and almost died more than I'd care to admit." She leaned back in the chair.
"But none of them have scared me as much as this. That thing," a shudder wracked her body. "It was smart, it knew exactly what it was doing."Petra gaped at her, slowly retracting her hand in shock, her throat closing over slightly.
"W..what do you mean?" She whispered."I'm telling you, it knew." Y/n gated at the girl. "It disappeared into a cloud of steam after kicking down the wall, pretty suspicious if you ask me, titans don't just disappear."
"What are you saying?" Petra recoiled in horror. "The military police are telling everyone it was just an abnormal!"
"I know." Y/n huffed. "But something was off, really off. That thing...it was almost like a human..."
The two stared at each other, y/n with a stone-cold look on her face while Petra looked as if she was about to cry before a sharp whistle filled the room, steam coming from the spout of the tea kettle.
"You should get back to bed." Y/n stood up, holding the blanket back out to the girl.
"And, I wouldn't tell anyone about what I said, it could get us both into trouble."Petra nodded violently before running off, almost slipping on the cold tile before speeding out of the room, her footsteps quickly fading into nothing as y/n walked toward the stove, turning off the gas flame and lifting the teapot.
"I think I freaked her out a bit too much..."
