My eyes never left the ground, not even once. The concrete changed under my feet into glass, and mirrored panes. And for the first time my surroundings seemed surreal, it felt like something completely foreign had possessed my body.
"Walk faster." Esther groans, "I can't keep slugging around like this."
"Huh interesting. Maybe you should've thought about that before you smashed my head into the wall."
His rough, tattered hands make it's way onto my arm, dragging me roughly along, "You seem to often forget your position, shut your smart little mouth before I tie you up."
I clenched my teeth, in deep reluctant bites. When I managed to escape I swear he would be the first I dragged down with me. I would make sure his betrayal reached even the lurking mice in Scutell. A dirty Eder Rebel really did carry a nice ring to it.
My arm had been decorated in long red tints by the time he had let go of me. It wasn't entirely noticeable till I reached the blinding room.
It was plain, coated with a thick white, the type that would make you squint at sight. And I did, but only before I had caught his figure, leaned on an armchair.
"Make yourself comfortable." The man says, words spoken flat, like reins of smoke thickened with ash.
Esther took this as cue to shove me into the chair, eyes raking me distastefully. He mouthed something along the lines of behave yourself, and with that his presence had diminished.
It was now light blue eyes that held my gaze, clear, like the mystic feel behind aquarium glass. Thick black waves cruised from his head. His features were strong and defined, almost as if molded from granite. And something smoldered beneath his stone cut expression, something I dearly hoped I wasn't the cause of.
"Who are you?" He questioned, body leaned effortlessly onto the metal chair.
It took me a while to gather my disarrayed thoughts, a while too long actually. It wasn't like I was doing it on purpose, it just so happened my mind was too busy occupied on his crazy handsome face.
