Hazel's POV

I smile gratefully at the flowers placed next to the stand, it was finally discharge day. And Lucas had dropped off a bouquet of handpicked lilies from the garden while I was asleep, The messy covering proving his genuine labor. Not that picking flowers required much, but needless to say I was filled with nothing but gratitude.

Even Danielle sent a card, and honestly I was impressed by their undeterred determination to treat me as a terminally ill patient, I maybe even underestimated their antics a little at first.

"Thank you Sung Jae, I'll make sure to drink this." I say shaking the contents of the protein mix. He expected me to indulge in these forsaken elements.

"I blend mine with almond milk and some ice but it's really up to you." Sung Jae affirms placing three more packets next to me.

I smile painfully, "I'll keep that in mind."

It was the thought that mattered, "I didn't get you anything if you were wondering." Misty says nonchalantly from her seat in the corner busy playing with her pink yo-yo, "No one informed me we had to treat you human."

"Well she is one." Sung Jae deadpans, I wasn't too sure if he was being sarcastic.

Misty's hand finds its way to her mouth, "Oh! Maybe I remember wrongly, do correct me if you find fault in my words. But didn't Nathan clearly state that she would be working for us, wage free, in our home, However you condemn me for a simple assumption?" She drags out, a grin of satisfaction forming as she spots his annoyed expression.

I wasn't being referred to as an object anymore. Was she warming up to me? And to think I had lost hope in our relationship.

"Let's get away from this annoying bug." He says grabbing my bag as we walk towards the exit, "Uff..I should've brought some repellent."

I chuckle lowly at their little argument, momentarily forgetting the stress weighing on me all day.

The exam results would be announced tomorrow and I was all over the place. To reach a passing grade I had to score an 82, well above the normal 50 required in other schools.

Even my body wasn't reacting well to this notion.

*********

(Monday Morning)

An assembly was being held, the spacious auditorium overfilled with conversation, I held onto Layla's hand for moral support as we awaited the councils arrival.

"Mic test, one, two, three." The balding teacher jokes lamely, his lampid smile creepily tilting, "A proverb in ancient..."

I look up the sudden silence ripping me away from my thoughts. Nathan jet black hair comes into view followed by the rest of the council, the stage now occupied by its rightful owners. Rachel beams radiantly from the seat next to me, usually occupied by Noah. But sense he was on leave due to some personal issues Rachel was acting as his step in.

"Look at the king himself Nathan Morris, in all his glory." She gushes, her bias was literally changing every other day.

"Good morning." Danielle articulates her professional tone in place, "Today we have all gathered for prior announcements of the midterms examinations that were taken the previous week. While some have reached our set criteria, others have not. The names of those said students will be listed shortly, in accordance to their respective rankings. Hopefully their daft mistakes will not be repeated in the upcoming examinations. The rest of the students results will be posted on the board situated outside the west wing. Now our president will say a few words before we continue with the announcements."
