Hazel's POV
The next day flew by without my knowledge and it was Monday in no time. Layla kindly informed me that we had morning assembly on Thursdays instead of Mondays like other academies. She was greatly mistaken, my old school barely had enough of a budget to have running water at times. I remember those vile days when some sadistic monster would take a equally foul dump in the poor cubicles rendering it unusable.
I jog downstairs finding Layla drinking a hot cup of herbal tea.
"Good morning!" I greet taking a handful of pistachios from the cupboard.
"Good morning, your awake early today." She comments impressed.
"Yea I know I surprised myself too when I checked the time."
She pulls out a blond sheet of paper from her bag. "Let's compare schedules before I leave, we might have some classes together." I take a peek at the lines of subjects listed horizontally on the thin sheet.
"I don't think I even got one." Maybe Mr.Winsfred had forgotten, he did say his assistant usually took care of those things. "All of ours were handed out in orientation but you can drop by the office, Mrs. Nabira will give you one." She says putting on her thick black cardigan,
"I would offer to come with, but I promised Noah that I would open up the club room today." She pats me on the back my special pout I always used on Nancy not working, thinking back I don't think it worked on her too.
I groan at the thought of wandering around alone at this ungodly hour. I walk towards the eerie corridors trying not to make a sound, I wasn't surprised to find everyone asleep considering the fact it was only four a.m. The dewy grass and fresh morning air tempting me to take a quick stroll outside, It would take at least another hour for the office to open up so I had quite some time.
After wandering aimlessly I find an aesthetic white bench and decide to watch the sunrise. A smile breaks as I'm reminded of all the amazing things that was happening to me so far. Maybe I was gonna finally live life to the fullest like I had promised Nancy?
From afar I spot the tip of a glass building, It's weblike translucent steel framework adding an airy yet warm dimension to the glass facade. Before I know it my legs subconsciously move towards the artistic structure. The curiosity in me begging to take a quick peek up close, anyways nobody was awake at this time I try convincing myself.
The sun hadn't even rose, I was sure everyone was asleep and plus this was my only chance.
I creep up closer the beautiful structure looming before me, the glistening glass shimmers before my eyes as I find myself caressing it foolishly.
Beep Beep Beep
I let go frantically my legs glued to the ground baffled. Who would've known they had motion detectors, it wasn't my fault the haunted building had hypnotised me into trespassing.
However this wasn't the time to be thinking of such things, I had to leave before I was tied into any of this.
I run panic stricken swiftly dodging through the lofty trees. After a while of shifting left and right I make it back to the white bench, My breath uneven I spot a tall luminous figure hovering a few feet away from my peripheral vision. Im met with the most attractive man I had ever laid eyes on. His face was proportioned to perfection as it glowed with radiance of otherworldly beauty. His prominent chiseled jawbones flex with intensity, it was as though the gods had sculpted him with undivided attention.
Next to him my school bag sat in a puddle of mud. The culprit a fallen angel, no matter how beautiful the sinner I couldn't forgive such an atrocity.
"Hey! You big headed buffoon!" I shriek picking up my dirtied bag, though a blatant lie it was the only insult I could come up with in such a short amount of time. "Who the hell taught you manners, I bought this bag a few days ago. You know how expensive it was? It was 64 dollars without tax. Who even does that you monster." I accuse the man before me.
