Kira hummed lightly, her fingers tapping against the wooden flute she held firmly in her hands before tracing along the fine craftmanship decorating the oak piece as she let his voice sinks in.

"The king had passed," the spokesman spoke, loud enough to be heard by most people residing in the small town, "his majesty, and along with a lot of his soldiers had fallen in the battle with the Kingdom of Caveil. We shall all pay our respects for their courage"

For a few while everyone was silent, bowing their head lightly as they wished blessings for the ones that passed. Even in the few moments of the dead silence, Kira couldn't help the urge to discuss the topic lingering on her mind as she nudged the male besides her, earning a puzzled look in response. The raven-haired woman looked around just to be sure before she whispered, barely loud enough for him to hear, "Is that not a good thing? We finally see the end of the king's reign"

Terushima's face went pale as his eyes darted from side to side, "It would not be a good thing had a royal guard heard you. Are you that desperate for a beheading?"

Kira tensed before pulling the blonde male away from the forming crowd. When she was sure they were neither in the sight or the hearing range of the rest of the ones present, she opened her mouth again, "But think about it, we are no longer under the tyranny of the king"

Her companion thought to himself for a little bit, the truth sinking in. If the king's death would mean peace, then it really is a good thing for them, the ones that used to be his subjects. Undoubtedly, a lot of them would agree. Then again, if the next heir to the throne is just as cruel as their father, the kingdom shall see no end to the ongoing war. Terushima heaved a heavy sigh.

"Would the next-in-line be any better than their late father?"

Kira took a long pause, weighing her choice of words. It was not as if it would influence their next ruler somehow, but just to ease the tension arisen, her next words would matter more than anything. Just as she was about to speak again the spokesman's booming voice cut her off.

"May the king and his soldiers be blessed. Accordingly, to his passing, the king's throne would be claimed by his eldest daughter, and all the future subjects to the future queen are invited to attend her coronation ceremony"

Terushima and Kira both shared a look before smiling lightly, the latter leading him back all the way to the front as they went to claim their invitations. The raven-haired woman then ran her finger across the envelope, her surname, 'Roosevelt' written neatly in a cursive was too much of an excitement for her to bear. She nudged the taller male next to her before smiling, extending her arms for him, "Shall we see for ourselves then?''

Terushima smiled, linking his arm with hers as he himself wore a wide grin, "We shall"
