"What do you mean lost?"

"Well, not exactly lost," Sugawara nervously rubbed the back of his neck, his free hand tapping on the sword hanging by his belt, "more like trapped in an alternate dimension."

"So we're trapped in a sorcerer's domain?"

The male gave a quick nod as a response, "for now let's mark the trees until we find the end of the domain. We can't really escape unless we know what kind of sorcery is used."

Asami hummed in response, holding her hand out as he handed her a small knife. Before long, they managed to determine how far does the world goes, but was yet to find a way out. Sugawara frustratedly kicked a pebble in his ways, a string of curses escaping his mouth while he let his digits tossed his once neatly parted hair into a hot mess. 

And it's not just him. His companion, too, was at her wit's end. Asami knew if they keep doing nothing something will definitely happen. Whether to them or the princess, and she refused to have anyone bites the dust.

Too caught up in her thoughts, Asami failed to notice Sugawara's desperate warning as a beast advanced towards their barely shielded form. The knight stepped in her place, drawing his sword in a fluid motion before slicing the beast into two. Asami snapped out of her trance, seeing nothing but the smoke around them, "What happened?"

"Stay back!" He exclaimed, ignoring her previous question when he heard another movement. As the smoke thinned out, they were met with a silver fox, way smaller than the beast, but Sugawara wouldn't let his guard down just yet.

Both of them flinched when the fox came speeding towards them, faster than the knight could react before jumping over their heads and disappearing into the night. Sugawara was determined to catch after the creature, but when he saw a dim light in the distance, he knew what he should prioritize.

Asami sprinted towards the carriage as soon as she saw it, her now pale face dripping in sweat in fear of what she might see. Her hands pried the door of the carriage open with barely a struggle before her eyes fell on Acacia's peaceful sleeping form. Asami sighed in relief, falling to her legs as she let out a chuckle.

Sugawara too, felt as if a heavy burden was taken off his heart when they all made it out unscathed. Even so, he was still bothered by something. Why would a wizard go as far as trapping them if they wish no harm to the princess?

"Oh my," a gentle voice brought an end to the previous silence, diverting their attention to an old lady. The lamp she was holding illuminated her path, a bit of her face exposed to the two young adults. She was genuinely worried, and they could see that.

"What are you doing out so late in the woods?"

Sugawara gave her a gentle smile, "we're quite lost, mistress."

"That's how it seems," the old lady chuckled before guiding the male back to the driver's seat, "come, I'll lead all of you to my home."

"You have our gratitude, mistress...?"

"Kita, Yumie Kita."

Magnolia continuously stirred in her bed, her uneasiness kept her awake. There was nothing she was worried off, really, but for some reason, her heart was pounding and an unpleasant feeling was lingering in her stomach. Just as she closed her eyes again, she heard someone pounding on the door, making her jumped in both surprise and fear.

She hurried to the living room in a panic, her father was already there when she arrived.

"A guest?" she asked. Lord Tobias shrugged lightly before pulling the door open, revealing a young woman, her face hidden beneath the hood of her cape. Magnolia flinched when the woman suddenly moved her arm, pulling back her hood before revealing dark eyes and long silky black hair, framing her oddly rather familiar visage. She offered the lord of the house a smile before bowing lightly of respect.

"May I help you, mistress?" 

"Oh," the female chuckled lightly, "pardon me for intruding so late at night. I am Kiarra."
