It was a somewhat quiet morning, the ray of sunshine peeking through the window, illuminating the long hallway of the Castle of Seijoh. Amidst the serenity, Oikawa was marching towards the kitchen with swift steps, flying the door open as he barged in on the future queen's peaceful breakfast session.

Sora continue sipping on her tea calmly, even after Oikawa exasperatedly slammed on the dining table, demanding something of hers, "your explanation, Your Grace?"

The queen placed her cup back onto the saucer, unbothered by him boring a hole in her skull, a mix of betrayal, anger, disappointment, stirring in his orbs of brown, "what is there to explain, Lord Oikawa."

It took all of his willpower to not flip the table in her face while he decided to have a seat instead, taking a deep breath before a maid slid a cup of tea towards him. With a mere flick of his wrist, all the servants were dismissed, leaving him and his queen behind.

Sora helped herself to more tea as she awaited him to open his mouth again, stopping when she heard him, his voice barely above a whisper, "why?"

"It was meant to be like this, Tooru."

"So what we had doesn't mean anything to you?"

"Tooru, it is hard for me too-"

"Then shoo the princes and lords back to their home, Sora, I'm the one that loves you!"

Sora hung her head low. It wasn't as if this is what she wanted. As a queen, it's only fair she has a partner of the same standing, that's what her mother claimed. That's how it was for so long. And it's not just that. Oikawa is better off steering clear of the royal family. He wasn't supposed to be this close to her in the first place.

"Do not let your feelings interfere with your duty as a queen," her mother's words rang loudly in her ears. That's the right thing to do, right? So why is it, that she is doubting it?

"Your Grace?" Both individuals whipped their heads towards the voice facing Kei, who was fidgeting in place, "am I interrupting something?"

"No, your timing couldn't have been better," Sora replied, "it's time for me to meet my guests after all."

Oikawa gripped her wrist firmly when she walked past him, biting on his lips frustratedly at her attempt to escape, "we're not done yet."

"Yes, we are," Sora pulled her hand free out of his grasp, not once did she spare him her gaze. The male could only watch as she strutted out of the door, away from him before disappearing off his line of sight.

"Are you really sure about this, Your Grace?" Kei inquired to the queen, following closely behind as they headed to the main entrance.

"...I am," the brief pause didn't go unnoticed by her subject, but Kei decided not to pry further. There's no changing her mind now that she made her decision, but Sora kept hoping there's a way for a happy ending, even if it's wishful thinking.

"What's on your mind?" Akaashi spoke up after a good while, startling Kei who was staring aimlessly into her teacup. The blonde shook her head lightly, a small, saddened smile adorning her feature, "nothing important."

Akaashi hummed in response, going back to sipping his tea before Kei spoke up again, "do you support the decision the queen made?"

"You mean all the guests we're having? Well, I'm sure Her Grace would know best."

"But," Kei interjected, "Her Grace and Lord Oikawa are lovers, are they not?"

The general put his cup back onto its saucer, his eyes meeting hers in an intense gaze, "don't we have something more important to discuss ourselves?"

"The death penalty, yeah, you're right."

"What death penalty?"

Akaashi and Kei both felt their heart drop at the voice of the unwelcome guest, their face paled upon realizing their blunder. Suna flashed a sly smirk as he neared the stunned individuals, leaning towards their mini tea party, "mind if I join in?"

"How long have you been there?"

"Long enough to get my interest piqued," Suna snickered, "I'd give you my assistance if you can tell me more about the topic at hand."

"And if we refuse?" Kei gulped, nervous.

"Refusing is not an option, darling."

Asami groaned lightly, the illuminated space was too much for her to bear. She forced herself to wake up despite the agitating body aches, hearing muffled voices from outside her room. Untangling her locks, her feet carried their way out to the living room where the owner of the humble abode and a man she knew not of were animatedly chatting over light breakfast.

The bicoloured haired male lit up as soon as he saw her, "Lady Sato, good morning."

Her eyebrows raised slightly, "pardon me, but do I know you?"

"How rude of me," the male bowed lightly in his seat before standing up, pulling out a chair as to offer the woman a seat, "the name is Kita Shinsuke, King Atsumu's advisor."
