Asami jumped as she heard the sudden screech coming from inside the mansion. Looking up to Sugawara, she noticed the stern expression on him.  The silver-haired male then turned around to call over some guards that were patrolling around the area. He then turned to Asami, his expression softening, "Stay here"

"Why? Sir Sugawara, in this mission, I am the one in charge of Princess Acacia"

Sugawara rolled his eyes before firmly gripping on her shoulders, his eyes narrowing, "Now is not the time to be stubborn, My Lady. I refused to have you hurt"

Asami let out a dry laugh as she shrugged him off, "I feel both touched and insulted at your concern, but I'll tell you, I'm capable of defending myself"

Without hesitation, Asami immediately marched inside and towards the sound. Sugawara gritted his teeth in agitation before he followed suit, his hand resting on his sword as he readied himself to get into battle.

As they walked into the room, they found Acacia sobbing hysterically as she held her mother's dead body in her arms. Acacia's face was flushed, her cheeks stained with tears and her clothes drowned in fresh blood smeared across the floor. Sugawara's eyes widened before he rushed outside to tell the guards to cover all grounds of the lot, not to let anything or anyone went by unnoticed.

Asami shook herself of the shock before she kneeled down next to the princess, her hand resting on her shoulder as she held herself back from throwing up from the smell of the blood, "Your Grace, we need to get out of here. It's not safe"

Acacia shook her head violently before hugging her mother tight, "I can't leave my mother"

"Your Grace, for your safety, you must"

"No," Acacia let her voice trailed off as her fingers brushed off the stray locks on Lady Evelyn's face. She was as pale as a corpse could be, her eyes sealed shut and her mouth slightly parted, as if she still had the need to breathe

Even with the cut along her abdomen, she looked peaceful, as if she was just napping, and she would be awake to welcome her later. Acacia hoped she would, but she knew that was too much to ask.

Sora kept on massaging her forehead in hope of letting the headache go away. She was horrified to hear of Lady Evelyn's death, more so when she knew Acacia could have also died. Sora sighed before standing up, clearing her throat as she had Oikawa ready with parchment and a quill, "Lord Oikawa, I request to have no one to in and out of Seijoh while we investigate the death of Lady Evelyn Lee. Anyone who dares oppose me shall be executed"

"Under your command, Your Grace"

Sora nodded before turning towards Asami, "As for you Lady Sato, I requested you continue your journey to Inarizaki with Sir Sugawara and Princess Acacia. The princess' safety is your utmost priority"

"Understood, Your Grace"

"What?" Acacia questioned as she stood up from her seat, feeling awfully betrayed, "What about mother's funeral?"

Sora furrowed her eyebrows before shaking her head disapprovingly, "This matter concerns your safety and you dare question my judgement, Acacia?"

"Of course," said woman replied, her gaze as stern as the queen, "this matter concerns my late mother"

Oikawa nervously fidgeted in place as he felt the tension building up, glancing at Asami now and then, hoping that she would catch on. To his luck, Asami did notice before she stood out to voice her opinion, "Your Grace, I do agree that we should continue the journey, but I suggest you preserve Lady Evelyn's body until we were to give her proper burial, that is, with her sole daughter present"

Sora raised her eyebrows questioningly, "And how do we do that?"

Asami smiled before motioning toward Kunimi, who had been quiet throughout the discussion, "Lord Kunimi will find a way"

Kunimi tensed as he felt everyone's attention shifted to him before nodding in agreement, having no way to protest. Sora nodded as approval before dismissing the council, having to remind herself of the busy days she had coming.

Kuroo frowned as he finished reading the content of the letter, tousling his hair as he sighed. Too deep in his thought, Kuroo failed to notice as Magnolia sat across him, pouring a cup of tea before sliding it to the ravenette. He muttered a small 'thank you' before putting on a tired smile.

"Are you alright?"

Kuroo chuckled in response, "A little tired. Say, I'm heading to the castle tomorrow, is any of your brothers home?"

Magnolia flashed a small smile, "Yes, worry not. Make sure to hurry back though"

Kuroo laughed before ruffling her hair lightly, this time, a genuine smile decorated his features, "I will"
