Kei jolted in her bed, cold sweats gathered around her forehead before she wiped them off. Her face was pale, having have dreamt of an unknown woman bleeding to her death was never a pleasant experience.

The lady sighed before trying to recompose herself, her hands brushing of the locket hanging on her neck. For a second she thought she saw it shining, but she brushed it off as soon as rays of sunlight hit her face, making her aware that she had overslept.

Rushing out of her bed, Kei was about to head to the bath before hearing a light knock on the door, accompanied by the voice of one of her servants, "Lady Kei? A young man requested to see you at the door"

Kei raised her eyebrows in confusion, "Invite him in for tea, I need to get ready first"

The servant wasted no time to do as she said, and Kei headed to the bath to start on her morning routine.

As Kei stepped out to the kitchen, she noticed a ravenette sipping on the tea as he kept his gaze to the book in front of him. Kei took the seat across him, feasting on a simple breakfast hurriedly, all the while trying to be as polite as possible. Akaashi raised his eyebrows slightly in surprise, "You don't look well. Did something happen?"

The lady shook her head in response, "How about you? To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Akaashi coughed lightly before looking away, a slight blush dusting his cheeks, "I was out to meet my father, I figured I'd pay you a visit"

Kei smiled, amused, "Well you wouldn't have to, we could have met at the castle"

"Are you sure? You seem kinda pale," Akaashi reached out to her hand across the table before brushing his fingers across it, "and you're burning. Please, rest for the day, I'm sure things are under control back in the castle"

Kei shook her head lightly before standing up, "I appreciate the concern, Lord General, but the ambassador and the princess are heading to Inarizaki today, it would only be reasonable for me to do my best too"

Just as Kei was about to head out the door, Akaashi gripped on her wrist firmly, pulling her back. With a serious tone he spoke, "The visions, are you having it again?"

Kei frozed, her eyes widening as she hurriedly pulled her hand away. Akaashi sighed before walking back to the dining table, motioning for the servant to pour him another cup as he awaited the lady to say something.

Pressing her lips into a thin line, Kei turned around slowly before her eyes met his, looking away as soon as it happened, "The Lady died"

"Who, exactly?"

"I don't know," Kei frowned, her palms starting to get sweaty, "Raven-haired woman, bleeding to death, right in front of me, she... died"

Akaashi's previously stern expression softened as he realized how horrified she was. He took it upon himself to stand up before leading the woman back to the dining table, pouring some tea for her before he told the servant to prepare a warm bath, "I'm sorry I forced you into talking about it. For now, rest, I'll tell my men to alert the queen of your absence"

Kei nodded as she watched Akaashi walking out the door. She tried sipping a little of her tea, her hands shaking as she picked up the cup. The blonde-haired woman sighed lightly as she prayed for things to be alright.

Acacia couldn't hide her excitement as she kicked her feet back and forth, making Sugawara chuckled. Asami too, had a genuine smile on her face as she tilted her head to the princess, "I'm glad I can help you meet your mother again"

The ravenette chuckled in response, slightly fidgeting, "It truly had been a while. I owe you, Lady Sato"

Asami waved her off as Sugawara stood up, opening the door for them as the carriage came to a halt. Acacia immediately rushed to the front door before knocking on it, a wide grin on her face, "Mother, I am home"

Her face dropped lightly when she got no response, knocking on it again as she called out to her, "Mother?"

Sugawara and Asami both worriedly looked at each other before telling the princess to just open the door. Acacia complied.

The door opened without the need for too much force, revealing an oddly empty house. No servants, no guests, not even Lady Evelyn was in sight. Acacia walked inside towards her mother's bedroom, her heart racing in slight fear.

She pressed her hand lightly against the door, trying to push it open but failed. Acacia then put more force before she stumbled forward and into a pool of unknown red.

Looking up, Acacia's face turned pale. She felt the urge to scream but no sound came out. Falling to her knees, her lips quivered as she crawled to the motionless body behind the door, "Mother?"
