There I was- looking at the biggest essay due at the end of the semester. Enormous part of our grade- but I guess that was implied when I said, "biggest essay due at the semester."

It was only the first few months of school- what the fuck was wrong with teachers- The amount of dumb ass work they assigned-

I breathed in heavily in and out.

'Don't freak out. Don't freak out.' I mentally slapped myself as I felt the tears rising and a lump in my throat grow.

I had no idea what defined me.

I couldn't just say flat out on the paper, "Hey I'm Ladybug and what defines me are the little earrings on my ears."

Tikki flew up from behind me and sighed seeing my frustration.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she took her nub of a hand and caressed my cheeks. She snuggled into my neck before saying, "Take your time Marinette- this isn't due till December."

I smiled at her comforting words.

In the emotions of the moment I took a brief break to spread out on my bed and gaze up at the ceiling.

Wondering...

What was I without Ladybug?

The shell of a clumsy girl who couldn't string together two sentences?

A train wreck that couldn't do anything productive without being in a skintight red ladybug suit?

I felt a tear trickle down my cheek before Tikki interrupted me.

"MARINETTE YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR PATROL!"

I jumped up. Shut. How could I have spaced?

Arranging the pillows in a body shaped form before throwing the cover on and saying my transformation words.

Immediately, my heart lightened at feeling the light bands of my suit wrap around me.

Before I knew it I was soaring through the air as Ladybug. I smiled at the sensation. The wind pulling through my locks was one of my favorite sensations. The cool breeze made me bite my lip in glory as I landed right next to my cyan haired partner.

Not just my partner though-my boyfriend too.
