Serial Killer

After you'd been introduced to the others, Brooke offered you to stay at her apartment for the night.

You agreed, even though Montana had tried to intervene, saying that her house was 'safer' especially with the serial killer around.

"What serial killer?" You ask, shifting your weight to your other foot and scratching your neck.

Montana just grinned, "Oh ya know! Haven't you seen it on TV?"

You shake your head feverishly.

Of course you hadn't seen it on TV, you'd only been here a day. But, how was Montana to know that?

"The Night Stalker." Xavier interrupts, anticipating your fear just like a story teller.

Shit, you'd heard about him in one of your history classes.

Xavier gives you a reassuring smile seeing how surprisingly shaken you were, "But, we'll definitely be safe at Camp Redwood."

Brooke looked a little bit anxious too.

"You know what. I'm kind of having second thoughts." She says, scratching her neck.

You raise your eyebrows and open your mouth to say something but Montana beats you to it.

"What? Scared? He's not going to come and chase you 166 miles away from the city!" Montana mocks before scoffing.

Chet joins in too, smirking and looking at Brooke in an intimidating manner.

"Besides, we need you and Y/n to balance out the testosterone in this group." She says, her menacing grin becoming more of a friendly smile.

"Yeah come on Brooke." Xavier comments.

"It'll be fun!" Ray grins.

You nod at Brooke but she shakes her head.

"I- I'll decide in the morning." She decided.

Montana just shrugs as if to say, 'Fine but you are missing out'

"Please!" You tilt your head and furrow your eyebrows.

"I'll decide in the morning." Brooke repeats, only this time she sounded more certain.

"Okay! Okay! Y/n! Please stay at mine!" Montana says, swiftly changing the subject.

You smile at Montana but edge closer to Brooke.

"I'm good thanks," You say, Brooke smiles back at you, at least you were friends.

"Mmm...okay," Montana says before turning to Xavier.

"Do I have to pay for today's aerobics?"

"Nah, you can have it free." Xavier replies to Montana.

A conversation sparked up between Montana, Xavier, Chet and Ray which was the perfect opportunity for you and Brooke to sneak off.

Truthfully, you didn't want to go to Camp Redwood without Brooke.

You had barely known each other for a day but you liked her a lot. You just knew you were going to be best friends.

One of the best things about being friends with Brooke was that she wasn't some crazy witch like all the girls you hung out with back in 2018.
