Quinn's P.O.V.
Felix dropped me home safely just as he promised. He was so sweet enough to bare my presence when I had a toll of mixed emotions. What did I just hear from that old woman? It won't come out as reality, right? Oh God, I'm.. I'm going to die. I was so hesitant to move forward. He pulled my hand and gave me a hug. "Cheer up Fire... I'm sure, you don't want your parents to know about this" I nodded. "I would love to say, stay in my sight but I know you hate that" he joked but I was so grateful for his presence today. "No, I love to be" I said weakly. He slowly raised my face and looked at me tenderly. I was so lost in his eyes that I failed to notice my mother in that scene. "Ahem" she cleared her throat.
"Hello ma'am" Felix turned his attention to my mother, giving me time to put on a façade. "So, what's up?" she asked him. He scratched the back of his hair and said, "Nothing much ma'am... Just wanted to drop your daughter off" he gave his dazzling smile. Till now I didn't realize how much of a handsome boy he was. The way he said 'sweetheart' and 'chocolate' made my heart beat faster earlier today. Just when I saw him, he turned to me and winked. I got flustered and bent down to hide my rosy cheeks. "O-okay, I'll get going" I told him and went inside. I ran up the stairs with Pip following close to me. Locking the door shut, I laid down on the bed. If, I'm going to die, I have to fulfil certain duties. But how will my family embrace my death? Won't they be terrified of it? I must be brave enough to face them.
Taking my journal, I noted down the possibilities of having link with Remi. That old woman had given me a hint which was a plus point for me. She had said, "It means you had a relationship in your past life". So, it has to be him cause my dreams indicate him. She also said, "You will have the same connection with them, even in this life of yours". Now, the only thing I have to find is how he was related to me in this life. Just when I turned my back to the wall, I saw Remi standing near the door frame. "Woah, my Holy God!!" I screeched, as I clutched my heart. "How are you?" he asked me. I nodded as I was out of breath and said, "Yeah, I'm good and you?" He smiled sadly. "To be honest, I don't know myself and... Don't panic" he said.
Okay he's not the type to say this and he's freaking me out now cause his posture isn't reading out good. "Uh, Okay" I said as I stood up from bed. "I.. I feel like I'm parting away from my body..." he whispered as he neared me. Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, what am I going to do? I..I have to stop this!! Just before I could utter my sadness and irritation, he dissipated into thin air. "What man, I can't accept this... Really? Has he have to disappear now?" I voiced out. I exhaled the air in irritation and almost choked on my air when I saw that black cat on my window. What's with the cat, nowadays? I stood near it and tried to examine the collar but it hissed. I think, it was the same cat from last time cause, it had the same crescent shaped dollar around its neck.
"Hey, are you lost?" I asked the cat but it just stared at me... Just blindly saw me. Wherever I moved, its eyes followed me and it started to creep me out. I was about to shoo it away but then I was distracted by the knock on my door. "Yeah" I called out. "I'm heading out with dad so you'll be alone in this house and don't do anything stupid, okay?" she chuckled. "Yeahhh mum" I dragged and smiled. "If you wanna go out, you can but please do inform me and don't let anyone inside the house!" she called out as she left for the stairs. I could go out to the library and read the book once again. That would be a perfect idea!! So, I hurriedly checked my outfit and wore a baggy shirt over my tank top.
Just when I was reaching over to my mirror to get my scarf, I saw an incredible sight and was rooted to the spot. The cat, or now I couldn't call the odious creature like that after seeing its gruesome transformation. I clutched my mouth shut as I saw that vile creature transform into a hooded being and the room automatically turned into a night like dull colour. The four legged creature now transformed into a winged faceless hooded human with a long scythe. Holy God! Save me please, please save me from this creature Lord!! I just froze in terror but the creature didn't move for mere seconds. "I think I froze time now" I muttered. I slowly turned towards my back to get a clear glimpse of the creature which stood not less than 3 foot space before me.
"Your powers don't work on me", the booing voice said. "Uh" I trembled. I stared at the open space where the creature's face should be. But I was wronged, it didn't have a freaking face!! Thank God, my parents aren't here... "I..I." I stuttered. You must be brave and don't let the opponent know that you're afraid. "Who are you?" I voiced out but it merely came out as a whisper, I hardly think it would be heard by that creature. "Being Hecate's daughter, I thought you were brave enough to meet me" "I'm not Hecate's daughter and additionally you didn't answer my question" I questioned it with the courage I gathered. It scoffed. "She would be offended by that if she heard you" he said with an echoing voice and it gave me goosebumps and chills down my spine.
"Its sad and embarrassing for me that you don't know my name" he said as he stretched out his arms. I flinched back in terror. "That's the reaction I was expecting from you, humans. I think keeping you away from her realm did bring in a lot of changes in your character and life" he laughed in a wicked way. Okay, I'm thinking that he's kinda like the bad guy... Is he the leader that the demon spoke about? My thoughts alarmed me now. "Are you the leader of those demons?" I asked him masking my terror. He scoffed. "I wouldn't do these kind of silly works and..." He thought for awhile and continued, "It must be that crazy witch's work" he confirmed. What??!!I don't want another evil person entering in my life again!!!
"I am Grim reaper, the collector of souls" His voice echoed in my dark room. "I've come to you to get the information about the missing soul which was under my control" He was angry by now. Realization dawned on me as I understood that he was talking about Jeremy. Oh no, what am I going to do now?? How am I going to save him? "That lost soul seems to be in contact with you!" He said. I was in deep trouble now. "Me?" I asked in vain. "Yes you and I want to know where he went" he asked me. "I really don't know.. He doesn't share information like these to me" I told him honestly. A white light emerged from the space where his face was to be seen and it brightly shone in my face too.
As the light became brighter, I turned away to close my eyes but he held my hand and made me to watch the bright light. It blinded my sight and my memories with Jeremy freely flowed on my mind. I felt like I was captivated by the strong blinding light. Within a fraction of a second, the blinding light was nowhere to be seen and the place where he had touched me was burnt. "So you were telling me the truth after all" he said in satisfaction. "Di- did you just go through my memories without my permission?" I asked in agony. How could he? The burn was immensely painful but not more than the pain of loosing Jeremy. I need to save him before his soul gets collected by this monster. "Then I'll get going" "Where?" I blurted out.
"To get his soul, beautiful" he chuckled viciously. "What happens after you collect his soul?" I questioned him. "He dies" he replied. This should not happen at any cost!! I heard the window creak open and I was shocked to see who it was. "Felix" I breathed. Oh my God, why is he here? "Why are you freaking out Merida?" Ah, couldn't he see that immortal figure before me. I shifted my attention to that deadly creature to only see it as the odious cat before me. "What's that cat doing in your room?" I don't know myself. "I..I" I stammered in shock. He quickly came to my side and pushed the cat away not knowing the consequences he's 'bout to face. It hissed back at him and jumped out through my window.
"So, what's up?" he asked me. I was still too shocked to respond to him. "What happened?" he shook my hand to get my attention. "We need to save Remi" I said as he made an appearance in front of us.
