Felix P.O.V.

"That was an idiotic move, Xavier" I scolded myself. What was I even thinking? You love her. "Yes" I said out loud and received a frown from the librarian. I went back inside as I forgot to get the keys from her. ".. - you all these hours?" I heard her beautiful voice asking someone on the phone, I guess. I just used this time to look at her gorgeous face. She was still blushing from that incident. Something stopped her. Something, that I still didn't know about. If it wasn't there.... Huh! What to do now that I have missed the chance? I can only mourn in the end... As I regained my senses, I saw something lurking in her shadows. "Okay, night" her angelic voice responded but to my horror, her phone was lying on the table.

The silhouette gained height and towered over her as it leaned towards Merida. What the heck is that? I have to do something to bring that creature's attention on me. "Merida" I called out as she jumped in fright. Why is she so jumpy? Anyways, that creature retreated back into the ground. "Whoa! What's gotten into you lady?" I asked her in concern as she looked at me worriedly. "Nothing" she said but I wasn't focussed in what she said. The thing in the shadows grasped my interest as two golden eyes emerged from it. "Felix!" Merida shook my shoulders but I was frozen to my place. I failed to make eye contact with her as those golden eyes rose to a height, taller than me.

She turned behind her back, before I could stop her. What can I do? I was rooted to the same spot as I was figuring out what the hell was that creature. In these never ending years of lifetime I had, I've never encountered something like this. But as she turned, I couldn't believe what my eyes saw. Within the blink of my eye, those haunted eyes vanished from my sights. "Meow" I jumped back cause this feline was in the exact same place, the evil creature was lurking. "How did you get in here sweetie?" she asked in a baby voice as she bent down on her knees to examine the pitch black cat. Would you call me mad if I said that the cat is shimmering in the white light? I'm going crazy! It hissed back at her.

"Hey Felix, This cute 'lil one is lost. It's name is.... Nyx" she paused as she was deep in thought. Absentmindedly she shook her head and said, "Totally weird" and chuckled. Nyx? I kinda have heard that name... The question is where and when? It's ringing an alarm in my head but I don't know why... suddenly I heard a sound near me only to find that it was coming from Merida. My throat started blazing suddenly as the air around me was infiltrated by the thick vicious liquid. Shit!!!! I closed my eyes and stopped breathing. It was burning! My stomach churned due to that amazing smell. It felt like a million of needles poking my throat. "Xavier!! Stop it... You can control it!" I motivated myself.

I opened my eyes to see the blood dripping from her small fragile hands. I gripped the nearest chair as I took in a little breath and it started again. In agony I gripped the chair even more harder and crushed the arms of it. "Merida" I wheezed out in misery as her sweet blood tormented my patience level. I pulled her up as I stopped breathing again. "She scratched me" she chuckled. How can she laugh when she's with a dreadful monster? It's only because she doesn't know about me. It was a torture to breathe again as I could feel my fangs opening up. Just one action. I could pull her wrist up to my mouth and a little bite would suffice this burn. Then I could wipe out that memory. "Xavier, snap out of it!!"

It was really tempting but I have to take her away from that feline. "We have to get outta here" I ordered her as my words came out in a rushed tone. A small mistake would ruin whatever is between us. Carefully, I reached for a tissue in my pocket and wounded around her wrist. "Why isn't it stopping?" she questioned. "It's deep" I said as I pulled her out with me to the valet. Then, I pulled out my glasses as my eyes would have definitely gone black. "What's with your eyes?" she asked me. What's with her? Doesn't she already have a thing to care about? "Deficiency" I hissed. I started the bike in urgency as she clutched to me. How romantic it would have been if this wasn't the situation...

"The cut was a bit deep. Since you called in very early, it's not a problem" Hayden said as she dressed up Merida's wound. I exhaled my breath out in calmness. But it still didn't put out the fire in my throat. "You can go now" she told us and I bid a thank you to her. We walked out in silence. I need to protect her. Protect her till I breathe my final breath. But she is slipping away from my hands! I need to do something. "Merida?" I called out. "Hmm?" she hummed in response. "Are you feeling cold?" I asked her as I laced my fingers to hers. "Well, when you hold my icy cold hand, it does seem like that" she said in her beautiful melodic voice. I slung my arm around her shoulders and she pressed herself against mine.

"I'll drive" I insisted. She acted like she was thinking and pouted when she gave her keys. I took this as an excuse and touched her long slender fingers, but as you know, she never acknowledged it. She would never know what I'm thinking of her. It will always be rooted inside of me. Exhaling out, I said, "Hope on" as I gestured. Then she placed her hand on my shoulder and I felt a tinge of spark. The same spark which I felt on the day when she hugged me. These few things are the only ones which makes me hope for her love. As on cue, she jerked her hand away. I smiled, "She does feel the same way Xavier" my brain indicated me. We rode in silence peacefully. But all good things don't last long.

Suddenly, the atmosphere changed. It seemed so chilly out of the blue. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw black fog like creatures lurking in the shadows of the trees. Wait what? I'm spooked out from the library incident... So my mind must be making something up, right? It sent shivers to my body so I shifted my attention back to the road. Merida held on to my shoulders with more grip. I glanced through the side mirror to see that she turned towards her back. "What happened Merida?" I asked her gently. "Uh" she trailed off. "No.. Nothing" she replied. But it wasn't. She wasn't the only one who saw that creature, which means she saw them too. "Go faster Felix....Speed up. I can't hold them any longer" she spat out, a bit strained.

Pushing my million questions away, I quickly obeyed her orders. I raced all the cars and bikes while the cold air slapped my rigid face. I turned once to check on her, only to see her eyebrows creased and pearl sized sweat on her forehead. "So cute" my mind drifted away. "MAX!!" she screamed as I failed to watch the road. That was the time when I felt it, the strong sensation around us. Her bike had automatically turned to its normal speed as it moved away from saving us from crashing into the car. I was dumbstruck at her pure, strong prowess. "Max, get to your house.. Fast!" she whispered but her eyes never moved from the impending danger around us.

Within seconds, I reached my house, parked her bike and escorted her to my a room which once belonged to my little sister. "What happened?" I asked her as her face showed anxiousness and her hands started trembling.
