Quinn's P.O.V.
"What happened?" I asked Jeremy hurriedly. "I..I'm .. I feel like suffocating" he wheezed out. "Do you feel your body?" I questioned. "Very lightly and it feels like I'm slipping away" he said as he sat on the bed and his hands on his head. "THEN SHOW US THE DAMN WAY!!!!" I yelled and he was taken aback. A loud thunder clap was heard just above us. "Calm down fire!" Felix said as he pulled me to him. This spiked Jeremy's anger as he whipped his head to me, "Don't touch him" he dangerously lowered his voice. I was way more irritated... Instead of showing us the way, which sensible person would sit in the bed wanting to die? Not me definitely! Well, he's here getting angry at me for leaning on to Felix without going to save his damn life!!
"Don't you dare get on me with this silly attitude! Show us the way" I said as I came out of Felix's arms not wanting to taunt him any further. He closed his eyes and turned around facing the window and I mirrored his action. Quietly observing everything, Felix bandaged his silk bandana on my wrists and faced me. "Could I come with you?" He whispered tenderly. "Yeah" I breathed in nervously. Suddenly, the winds rushed into my room as Remi went out. "Follow me!" I said as we ran out of my room to the stairs. Running even more faster, we reached the gate of my house but Remi was no where to be found. "We need to speed up!" I told him and he nodded. "This way" I heard a faint whisper on my left side.
I turned to that direction to find Remi at the end of the street and taking a right turn. I jerked Felix's hand and pulled him with me as I ran in that direction. He made a "Uff" sound when he crashed on me, making me fall. I held onto his hand for support but he fell on top of me. Seeing his face up too close, made me feel dazed. "We need to go" he whispered and stood up pulling me along. I nodded and headed to Remi's direction along with Felix. Soon, we reached the main road. Felix came to my right, which made a smile on my face because he wanted to protect me. I took a glance at him. "Girl, get a grip!" My mind scolded. Around a corner, we found a hospital and that was where Remi was heading.
"That one!" Felix pointed and he pulled me as he ran even more faster.. If it wasn't for my speed sense, I would have been crashed on the ground due to the speed he was pulling me. "Is he a sprinter or an athlete?" I quickly shook my head not wanting any room for these thoughts. Felix, no, I mean, Saving Remi is the only priority now. With that we reached the Eliza Hospital's reception. "Excuse me, I want to see a patient named Jeremy" I rushed out not wanting to waste any time. "Huh? The visiting hours is over now" came the irritated reply. I was out of words as I was overwhelmed with anger. Felix pulled me back as he stepped forward. "Hello Miss! I've come to see my dearest friend, Jeremy" he dazzled the receptionist with his 32 teeth smile.
"Yeah sure" she melted. He sure does have a way with the ladies. "Why does it feel so hot in here?" she smiled as she wiped her forehead. He turned to me worriedly. I shook my head indicating I was okay. He turned back to the receptionist. "The room no. please?" He asked her. "It's 403. Be quick cause the doctors would be there in 30 minutes", she warned him. "Sure, which floor?" He asked her again. "4th" came the reply. By the time he said thank you, I pushed the button in the elevator and waited for it. I went in and as it was 'bout to close, he slipped in. "Thank you so much for wasting your time for me" I said sincerely. He clicked his tongue and said, "Well, spending time with you is not a waste of time but the thing which I look forward to"
The emotion in his eyes, screamed at me to recognize them and I did. I was in guilt when I was using him for my own good. We reached the 4th floor and scanned for the room no. 403. "It's here" I called out to him. He came rushing to my side when I was hesitant to open the door. "Everything is alright.. You're going to save him, okay?" I nodded silently. "Be brave and act like my Fire!" he said as he shook my shoulders. "Yes!" I said gaining some confidence. Pushing the door open, I saw him standing next to the being lying on the bed with numerous tubes connected to his body. I lost my breath as I saw Remi lying on the bed with a pale face and a unsteady heart monitor. "What happened?" I whispered as I got close to Remi's soul. "I don't know" he whispered back.
"Try to get inside your human body again!" I urged him. Doesn't he know about this? "I don't know how" his voice faltered. "What is he doing?" Felix stood next to Remi's body. "He's not able to get inside his body" I said defeated as I leaned on him. "Tell him to try sit on his body or get on top of his body" I nodded as I looked up to Remi. He did what he was asked to do. Just then the door opened to reveal the same black cat. "Holy God" I whispered yelled as Felix stood in front of me and held my hand. "It will hurt you" I said to him. "I wouldn't get hurt easily" He smirked. Does this have a double meaning or something? Am I getting this statement in a wrong way?
"I see that you're here after the mental effect I caused" he spat out wickedly followed by a vicious laugh. Felix stumbled back in shock. He turned to me worriedly for the second time, "Did he do anything to hurt you?" I quickly shook my head. "The burn... it was him right?" I lowered my head, unable to lie to him. "Ahhhhh!" I heard Remi scream. "Noo!" I screamed with him too. The grim reaper was trying to take Remi's soul forcefully. "Don't do it!" I yelled as that grim reaper didn't stop at all. I grabbed his hand forcefully but it resulted in burning my hand again. "Stop", Felix pulled me back as whispered, "Use your powers" "I can't" I cried and lowered my head in shame as I couldn't save Remi.
His pleas for living his life was very deafening. "To the door" Felix pushed me to it. The doctors and the security guard were trying to break open the door as we were in without authority. I held the door close with the strong power surge from my hands. I saw Felix near the grim reaper. "So, the dead is also helping the child?" He said. The dead? Felix? No way.!!! "Stop it. I know you can't do anything to me!" He spoke very coldly. I've never seen this side of Felix as it was new to me. He held his hand and pulled him as the grim reaper lost his balance. Remi fell out of his grip and tried to forcefully enter into his body. Bright lights blinded the room as he tried this stunt of going inside his body.
This terrified the grim reaper. "What, how? This should not happen!!" His voice boomed as the lights blinded my eye sight. The light then died out as my eyes slowly adjusted to the room light. I could hear Remi's heart monitor as it flatlined for a minute. I was heart broken. All this effort was taken only for him to die? I fell down in grievance. The door pushed open and a couple of doctors rushed in. Tears flowed down my face as the grim reaper worriedly said, "What am I going to do now? How will they accept if I return empty handed?" He was angered by now. Felix crawled to my side and hugged me. I sobbed in his shoulders. "He is... He" I cried. "It's all because of you!! You were the cause of his coma state and now I lost his soul because of you!" He yelled.
"He's breathing!" One of the doctors yelled as he went out to call the nurse. I was the cause of his state? How could it be? I was beyond shocked. "He's dead because of me" I whispered. "Shh, it's alright..." cooed Felix. "There will be a tremendous adjustment and you wouldn't be able to save them again" He said as he vanished into thin air. "Be safe for me, okay?" Felix asked me as I heard the feeble heartbeats of the patient lying in the bed. I gasped and turned to look at him. The doctor rushed in with the nurse as they were quickly trying to find the cause he was breathing. "Call his parents immediately" he said as I could feel my senses blackening out.
"Merida? Merida!!" I could hear Felix calling my name but I was too tired to answer or was I giving up already without trying? I didn't know... But I welcomed it without fighting this time.
