PIPER, JASON, AND LUNA TALKED FOR A LONG TIME, BUT SOONER THAN SHE WOULD'VE LIKED TO ADMIT, THE ESTRELLA GIRL GREW TIRED.
She had no idea how she turned back around, or even how she'd managed to get comfortable on the back of a literal dragon, but eventually she fell asleep. She had the same dream from the night before, but it was choppy and foggy, like a memory that she couldn't recall all the details to. This time she saw the crying woman from a different perspective, like she was high in the sky watching from above.
The woman was beautiful, with glowing skin and dark black hair that twisted into a complicated braid. She was wearing silver hunting gear, a bow and quiver around her shoulders, and she looked heartbroken. Before Luna could really decipher her face, or try and ask the woman what was wrong, she woke up to stinging cold.
"We're here." Piper was shaking her shoulder gently. "In Quebec."
Luna blinked a couple of times before she realized that they were still on the back of Festus, but the sky was growing dark with night and they were no longer high up in the clouds. As she wiped the sleep from her face she looked down below and saw the city, all twinkling lights and snow capped roofs.
"It's so cold." She muttered, stretching out. A yawn caught her by surprise and behind her, Piper returned one. Luna tried to hold back her smile. "Sorry."
Piper chuckled too. "It's fine, it's been a long trip. Do you mind waking Leo?"
"Oh, yeah." Luna looked at the boy in front of her and how he was slumped over, just as he had been before, except, now he was drooling onto the bronze, eyelids moving with dreams. She grinned, reaching out and gently shaking his shoulder. "Leo. Leo, we're here."
The boy flinched before his eyes shot open. He peeled himself from Festus and began to do the same actions Luna had just done a few seconds prior to completely wake himself up.
Luna turned back to the city and saw that one building was in the center of it all, huge and historic. She was so used to Greek style cabins and rolling green hills that the sight of the snow dusted castle made her momentarily forget the entire reason they were there.
"It's beautiful." She mumbled to herself.
Leo blinked, still recovering from his long sleep. "Tell me that's Quebec and not Santa's workshop."
"That's Quebec City," Piper confirmed. "One of the oldest cities in North America. Founded around sixteen hundred or so?"
Leo turned his head to give her a surprised look, one eyebrow raised. "Your dad do a movie about that too?"
