LUNA HAD A LOT OF THINGS TO TALK ABOUT WITH HER FRIENDS.
One, it was the day of the solstice, and she needed to know what their plan to save Hera was. Two, she wanted to ask just how the hell they'd defeated Enceladus after all while she was soaring through the sky like a rag doll, though she had a feeling she knew that lightning bolt that almost killed her was part of it. And three, she kind of wanted to start making a list of what she wanted to happen if they did reach Hera in time to save her, aka when they sealed Luna's fate completely.
However, they never really got the time to do so after they landed at the Oakland Airport. Archie stayed asleep in the helicopter while the others clambered out and tried to figure out what they were going to do next.
"What now?" Jason asked Piper apprehensively.
Piper looked a mess, her dress torn in several places, her face covered in soot and dirt, and her hair a tangled in certain places, but she still managed to look beautiful. But her beauty didn't hide the pain and worry in her eyes. "First thing, I-I have to get my dad home. I'm sorry guys."
Luna wanted to shake her head, to remind the girl that she was the dove and Leo the forge— the two meant to break Hera free from her cage— but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Her father looked so badly torn that Luna felt sorry for the girl. She knew that if she were in Piper's shoes she'd do the same thing.
"Oh," Leo looked like he was trying to hide his disappointment. "I mean absolutely. He needs you right now. We can take it from here."
"Pipes, no." Tristan McLean spoke up. "You have misson. A quest. I can't—"
"I'll take care of him."
Luna, Leo, Piper, and Jason all turned to Hedge slowly, and none of them tried to mask their surprise. He was the last person they'd expected to actually be of help, especially in a situation that didn't involve fighting (or in the satyr's case, being knocked out).
"You?" Piper asked incredulously.
"I'm a protector." Glesson continued. "That's my job, not fighting."
He seemed to realize he was showing too much emotion and frowned. "Of course I'm good at fighting, too.
"Yes," Jason agreed.
"Terrifying." Leo added.
"Yeah, yeah. Sure." Luna nodded enthusiastically. "Very hardcore. Hard to beat. A real can of whoop ass—" She cut herself off when Jason sent her a look. "Yes."
