LUNA ESTRELLA WAS IN THE SKY WHEN ANNABETH RAN FROM THE ATHENA CABIN YELLING FOR HER.

Soaring through the air on Archie, her pegasus' back, she hardly heard anything but the whistle of the wind and his voice as he gave his usual sarcastic commentary on her skills, though they both knew she was the best archer the camp had ever seen. She had a silver bow in her hand with glittering accents along the curve, paired with a quiver of arrows that varied in size and color.

It was early, a lot earlier than when the campers were supposed to wake; so early even the sun hadn't risen yet, which meant she expected to be alone. There was a chill in the air, wind biting at her cheeks and turning them rosy as Archie spun and swooped at varying speeds.

It's so cold I think I may lose some special parts due to exposure up here. If you pick up what I'm putting down.

She rolled her eyes at the pegasus, biting her lip in concentration.

It's my testicles, if you didn't get that.

"Archie, please." She groaned before looking around.

She could see the different red marks of targets in the air, half of which already had arrows poking from the red dot in the center, left there by the Apollo cabin, who knew she preferred practicing archery in the air rather than on the ground. However, the morning fog was thick so that the one she focused on was barely a speck in her vision.

"Swoop down, I'm going to jump." She ordered her pegasus anyway.

Archie whinnied. Are you going after that target your never get again? You're psycho! You nearly broke your back last time

"I got it this time." Luna said confidently. "We've both got this. We've been practicing. I won't fall again."

No, we're both going to die. Terrible deaths, too. I'm too pretty to die a terrible death, Luna. Please don't make me—

"Do it, Archie."

Archie did it, because despite how much he whined about being her sworn guardian, the pegasus loved her and believed in her abilities. He had no doubt she could do it.
