Three days swung by like spring break, quick with sunny days.
Ever since the moment in the bathtub, Shigaraki had kept a tighter leash on you. He had forced you to move from your room to his and even instructed you to eat when he eats and sleep when he does. He was controlling your every second. Of course you didn't care because while he was busy with your schedule you were occupying your mind.
You thought back to his words, 'The real question is, can you prove you're my equal?'
The fact he's been watching you so closely like a predator stalking its meal, is because he wants to see if you can actually prove his question while under a strict control.
In those three days, Toga and Twice were sent out and has not returned. No one bothered to give you answers.
When asking Compress he would sigh, his body slumped over in the cushioned seat and his mask almost slipping. He played with his marbles, rolling them in his palms or even playing games with them. The lost of his arm caused the magician to lose his magical touch.
You didn't know why but you asked Dabi about Toga and Twice's location. A bit more concerned for Toga. Dabi responded by making a huffing sound deep in his throat while turning his back towards you. Irritated that another grown man is throwing tantrums at you and not wanting to have to put up with it, you grabbed the loose ends of his torn, ripped coat. He growled and spun around with flames flickering in his palms.
Quickly you grabbed both of his wrist, pulling them towards you before flipping them over and pushing them towards his body. His veins popped from his wrist. You stepped forward until his back was slammed against the wall. A few stitches got loose and blood bubbled into view along his dead, rotten skin. Maybe since you are now closer and in control of the situation that you were able to finally smell him. Your antennas slumped down when you sniffed the awful smell of decay and charcoal lifting from Dabi's flesh. There was also a strong smell of teakwood. He had overused cologne as an attempt to mask the decaying smelling. It didn't work as he expected but if someone were to pass by him, they would get a whiff of his teakwood followed by decay.
Finally, Dabi was at your mercy. Your hold on his wrist allowed you to take ahold of the situation.
"Just answer my damn question."
"Overhaul," Dabi winced. His lips twitching and the patch of decay under his eyes oozing thick, dark red blood. "An agreement your boyfriend did with Overhaul."
You let him go and he shoved passed you.
"He's not my boyfriend."
"Like it matters."
He groaned and spun back around to see you reaching into a cabinet for the first aid kit.
"Don't act. Let me fix you and I could be a ghost for the rest of your life."
Dabi turned to walk out, his broken staples hung loosely on this throbbing wound. But you moved quicker and used your wings to block the door. He threaten to burn them to dust but you glanced down at his wrist. He was hiding them back into the coat with no intentions of bringing them out. You tilted your head towards the kitchen tables, nudging him to sit down. Before looking at you, he took a seat at the end of the table and you took the sit beside him.
You cleaned his hands from the blood and reached inside the kit for a numbing serum. Dabi laughed and claimed he didn't need it. You shrugged and still used it on him. Afterwards you pulled out the staples you had opened and grabbed the small staple gun inside. Dabi didn't flinch and his body made no reaction to the gun piercing the dead skin and his flesh. He was completely use to the pain his body was in.
You grabbed a cloth and drenched it in water. Dabi went to stand up but you pulled him back down.
"I could do this myself," He yanked his arm away. "Get off me hag."
"Just sit down," Leaning forward you lightly brushed away the dried blood on his cheek. From the looks of it, the remaining flesh that wasn't burnt away was soft. He took care of whatever skin was left on his body. "I'll never bother you afterwards."
He sat back in the chair with his arms crossed and his left leg crossed over his right. Groaning you leaned forward practically at the edge of the seat while cleaning away the dried blood. Dabis had his eyes open. He was watching you concentrate, eyes focused, gentle hands that complement gentle lips.
"There one side done."
You grabbed another section of the cloth and soaked it in water again. When you turned back around, Dabi grabbed the wrist that held the damped cloth.
"Dabi, we are almost done."
He twisted your wrist and the cloth fell from your hands. Your body shifted, your right shoulder rising higher than your left as Dabi's fire slowly started to heat your skin. At first it was warm which you figured was typical for him since his quirk was fire but the heat got hotter.
"Dabi.."
"What the hell do you even see in him?"
"What?"
Dabi guided you onto your feet by twisting your wrist even more. You repeated the word 'Ow' hoping he might take a hint that he was hurting you but he was just as unfazed as he was with the staple gun. He stepped forward and pushed you down to the table. Your head lifting up and propping yourself on your left elbow, you were on your toes with Dabi caving in on you.
"What's your own plan? Tell me now before I burn you."
Your skin felt like it was boiling in his grip and you sat up. You went to reach for his wrist but he grabbed a chunk of your hair and yanked back. With a little shriek you reached back and held the hand that had a hold on your hair. The smell of burning hair mixed with the terrible smell of burning flesh.
"I have no plan!"
Dabi leaned in closer, his nose beside yours and his lips curved in a twisted grin similar to Shigarakis. "I don't believe you."
Spit was able to escape between his gritted teeth and you shook. "Do it. Burn me. I would like to see what happens if you turned me to crisp. I know Shigaraki would be more pissed that you took that opportunity from him."
"Bitch," Dabi pulled you off of the table and pushed you to the wall. "You're more stupid than you look."
Your body slumped down on the floor and you didn't dare to move until Dabi had left the room. He didn't bother with the first aid kit and he didn't even care to close the door. You looked down at the burn mark he had left behind on your wrist. Dabi now had his mark on your body, along with Shigaraki's numerous decaying marks. You got up and cleaned up the kit. Bandaging your wrist in a cooling resin for the burn.
You felt uncomfortable and a bit frightened. The only two times you and Dabi had a conversation it resulted with you being hurt in the end. You decided he just hated you.. or women in general. Not once have you seen him even make a conversation to Toga while staying at your family's house.
Taking a deep breath you brushed off the incident. It was a terrible conversation, if it could be considered a conversation, but at least you had a voice and spoke up. If you were honest with yourself, you believed if something awful happened to you Shigaraki would have been angry for you for getting yourself into that situation but also even more pissed that he would have to come up with a better punishment. If Dabi would have actually burned you to ash, Shigaraki would have thrown the largest fit and destroy everything. Fueled by anger and despair. In the end, he would have wanted to be the one to hurt you. He cares but he also can't hold back from being the one to inflict pain.
