Sat crossed leg
On this steep stone,
The moon shining itself
Within my eyes. The waves swelled enough
To wisp around my knees and toes,
Every time, I, revelled for more
Of the relief it stored within.I wished to walk on water
And dive within lest a single breath,
For I'm afraid I'd never get enough
Of the wonders so sensually refreshing.I'm afraid I'd never get enough
Of the feel of water gliding past me.
Touch me but not touch me,
Such a smooth calibre.I'd never get enough
Of sounds it makes-
Colliding, flushing, dripping,
Plenty of voices it made. But that's what I sit and wonder,
And that's all I wonder...
Whilst, it simply embraced
The cacophony of my thoughts,Approaching all with such calm
You'd hardly know when it eased in.
As I stared back at the moon,
I smiled soulfullyAs if, it were my friend
Who listened to all my silent rambles.
I stood and got down,
Walked the deeper depth of watersAnd oh! I'm afraid I'd never get enough
Of the feel of water at my fingertips.
I'm afraid I'd never get enough
Of the silky stature of this pellucid water.I'm afraid, I'd never get enough-
Of this nature.-S. A. Khan
