"ALICE ITS TIME TO GET UP." Jennifer Harrington ordered, flinging open her daughters curtains.

"Five more minutes." Alice mumbled lazily turning around trying to avoid the sunlight burning onto her eyelids.

"No, Get up right now. Steve is taking you to school in twenty minutes, and he will leave without you if you're not ready."

"Then leave without me." Alice mumbled into her pillow.

"Alice, just please get up and get ready." Her mother pleaded softly, leaving the girl alone again.

If there was one thing Alice loved, it was sleeping. She could sleep for hours on end, replaying the same dreams and scenarios in her head over and over again without growing bored. But when school was a thing it was a lot harder to do that. She couldn't sleep in class without getting caught and she never felt completely comfortable sleeping in the middle of a classroom full of kids.

The girl decided she needed just a few more minutes in bed despite her mother's wishes, but that few minutes soon turned into ten minutes.

With only ten remaining minutes to get ready, it was definitely a struggle. Flinging in the nearest pair of clothes she could find and lazily taking her comb through her hair, the girl was ready in a matter of minutes.

By the time she had reached the bottom of the stairs, her brother Steve, was standing by the doorframe of the living room twisting and twirling his car keys round his fingers.

"Finally. I was about to leave without you."

"Then why didn't you?" She smirked, tying her shoelaces.

"Cause I like annoying you."

"The feelings mutual brother." She peered up at him giggling under her breath as she tied her shoelaces.

Steve rolled his eyes. "Hurry up. If we don't leave now we're going to be late. Again."

"It was completely your fault that we were late yesterday."

"Are you kidding? I was waiting in the car for you for twenty minutes."

"Yeah but you hid my shoes! How am I supposed to leave the house with no shoes?"

Steve pushed his little sister out the door, flinging the keys over to her face before jumping into the drivers seat. "Just get in the car, Alice."

.

"Aren't you supposed to do your hair before you leave the house?" Steve asked his sister watching her with amusement as she played with her hair trying to do french braids in the car mirror.

"I didn't have enough time to do it at home." Alice huffed.

"No, You didn't give yourself enough time to do it at home." Steve mocked from beside her stopping at the red light and flicking his sunglasses down onto his head.

"Shut up, Steve."

"I'm just saying, if you got up a lot earlier then you wouldn't have this problem..."

"I said, shut up."

Alice had managed to finish her hair, leaning back into her seat contently."At least I don't need twenty five minutes to do my hair."

"What'd you say?" Steve glanced over at his sister.

"What? Nothing." She mumbled sarcastically.
