ELEVEN'S SOBS WERE THE MOST HEARTBREAKING THING TO HEAR. She wouldn't stop crying. Her leg looked awful. It was gushing of blood and something appeared to be moving inside it. This made her pain even worse.

"What is that?" Erica looked at the leg in disgust.

No one knew what the mystery creature was. It could have been anything. But whatever it was it wasn't an animal. It was the mind flayer.

"Jesus Christ." Dustin cursed watching the girl in pain. He felt really bad for her.

"Keep her talking. Keep her awake, okay?"

Mike held Eleven's hand refusing to let her go. Alice held her other free hand and gave it a tight squeeze. She was sweaty and it was hard to keep her still but nonetheless Alice tried. It hurt seeing her friend in such pain. She had never seen El cry quite as loud as this before.

"Jesus Christ." Dustin repeated again.

"Hey. Hey. Hey. Stay awake, stay awake. Let's get her on this side, on this side." Mike softly picked Eleven up, however she still let out a small yelp. Her leg was throbbing and no matter how gentle someone was with her, she still felt the pain.

"Easy, easy!" Steve said noticing how El cried out in pain as the boy's moved her.

Alice had only ever met Robin a few times before and never had the girls had a conversation longer than a few minutes. Steve always ushered Robin away from his sister as worried about what his coworker would tell her. Robin had a very big mouth. But from the time Alice had spent with Robin, she liked her. She seemed bubbly and all round a nice person to be around.

She could tell that Robin was squeamish looking at Eleven's leg. Alice still wasn't sure how Robin and Erica had even ended up with the boys in the first place but from what it seems, they had informed them in on some things. It still didn't make any of the information easy to process.

"It's uh . . . You know, it's not actually that bad. There was a . . . The goalie on my soccer team, Beth Wildfire, this other girl slid into her leg, and the whole bone came out of her knee. Six inches or something, it was insane." The girl rambled.

"Robin." Steve looked at her.

"Yeah?"

"You're not helping."

"I'm sorry." She hummed.

Johnathan returned to the group holding a knife. Alice's eyes went wide. "What are you doing?"

The older Byers boy looked up at her. "Cutting it out." He didn't wait for Alice or anyone else to object to what he was about to do before he prepared El.

"Okay. All right, El? This is gonna hurt like hell, okay?"

El cried again. "Okay."

"Just stay real still. Here, you're gonna want to bite down on this, okay?" He passed her a wooden spoon he stole along with the knife from the kitchen.

"Jesus Christ." Dustin cursed again.

Mike helped El put the spoon in her mouth. Johnathan lined the knife up with her leg ready to cut into the flesh. Alice hid her face in Lucas' shirt.

"I can't look." She said feeling sick a the thought.

"Do it!" Mike hurried. Johnathan nodded his head and he finally made the move and cut into Eleven's leg. Dustin let out a number of shrieks of disgust as he watched. Eleven screamed even louder than before which caused Alice to bury her head deeper into Lucas' chest. Nancy too let out a sob of disgust.
