ALICE HARRINGTON WAS DOOMED. It seemed as if she was running out of time. Doomed to die, to end. She certainly felt like that when she awoke up in an ambulance filled with strangers. She sat up in a panic, screaming and crying for her mother who was nowhere in sight. Where the hell was she and why the hell was she all by herself?

A nurse with patchy blonde hair took hold of Alice's hand. It felt similar to her mother's both, wrinkly and cold to the touch but it wasn't her. Alice pulled her hand away continuing to panic. "Get away from me." She cried. "Let me out! Let me out!"

The nurse wasn't pleased with Alice's attitude. "Hold her down." She ordered to the male nurse who was standing from behind her. Alice's face turned into an even stronger glare, before her eyes began to gloss over, "Please don't hurt me. Please-"

The nurse ignored her pleas, he pushed her forearms down onto the stretcher firmly causing the girl to squirm out in pain. She let out an agonising scream as the nurse moved a needle with an unknown substance inside. Her screaming suddenly came to an end as her vision became hazy.

Not long after, the van stopped. The back of the door opened with haste and Alice's stretcher was placed into a cart with wheels. All the original nurses had been replaced with new figures, Alice couldn't make out much. She just knew they didn't look like the nurses from before. However, as the stretcher moved further and further away from the van, Alice was welcomed with something far more familiar.

Her mother's voice.

"Alice!" She gasped, walking over to her daughter. She didn't get far before she was pushed back by the surrounding figures who were taking Alice inside of the building.

"That's my daughter!" She shouted angrily. The figures seemed to understand who Jennifer was and allowed her to move closer to Alice who was now starting to feel extremely drowsy- even more than before.

"Mom?" She slurred, opening her eyes ever so slightly. She could make out her mother's bright red jacket through the blurriness of her eyesight.

"It's me." She chuffed, taking hold of Alice's cold hand. She took hold of it and gave it a soft kiss. She was in absolute shock when she heard the news from Bob ( Joyce's boyfriend who Jennifer had only just met earlier on in the day ) when he called and told her that Alice had taken seriously unwell.

She and Henry were halfway through dinner when he phoned, and Steve had been out all day. She had to urgently leave, even after consuming more one glass of red wine. Even Henry seemed concerned which was a first for him. Still, Jennifer insisted he stayed at home in case Steve decided to make an appearance. The last thing she needed was to him to come home to an empty house and get a real fright.

As the stretcher was continuously pushed towards the lab, Alice crashed out. Whatever was in the shot she was given, had clearly taken the full affect on her. Jennifer let go of the girl's hand and followed closely behind the stretcher. She couldn't bare to see Alice like this. She thought she was getting better. Chances are, she wasn't.

Turing around, she could hear the screams of what sounded like another person. They sounded to be in a lot of pain. And a lot of it.

Jennifer's heart shattered when she saw just who that person was. Will Byers. She kicked herself when she noticed Alice had no went completely out of her sight. She had been so roped up in Will that she lost her. She hurried inside and eventually caught up to them.

When she entered, she watched with a chest full of worry as doctors and nurses surrounded Alice. It was deathly unsettling. One of the doctors Jennifer recognised as Doctor Owens. The man who had been looking after Alice through this hard time.
