hey guys! here's a pretty fun chapter:) i feel bad that i've been terrible with updates:/ enjoy!

Dixie stopped in her tracks, causing noah to glance back at her concerned why she had abruptly stopped walking in the middle of the hallway. She looked almost frozen? In shock as if she had just seen a ghost. He glanced down the hallway, to see the person that dixie had been looking at. The perosn that noah had quite a bit of anger towards, and the person that dixie was dreading to see especially at this moment where she was so content and happy.

After noah had identified who the person was, he looked away and glanced towards dixie. Her face was drained of color, stunned in place. Shock was evident across her facial features, showing noah that she had no intention of him being there. He smiled to himself, it was bitter sweet but he knew she didn't invite him over on purpose. He decided to just give her some time to sort things out instead of blowing up at her like he did last time.

"i'll be at my place, come in when your ready"

noah said, causing dixie to snap out of whatever trance she was is whipping her head to look at him. "hmmm? what? no don't go it's okay" she answered a little frantically, not wanting him to leave her.

Noah chuckled very lightly trying to keep the mood light and assure her that everything was fine. He reached over and kissed the top of her head gently "dix, really it's fine just come find me when your ready you know i'll be waiting" and he walked away from her striding down the long hallway. He passed matt, but kept his head down so they wouldn't exchange glances, he was still unaware that noah and dixie where there in the first place.

Dixies POV:
I watched him walk down the hallway, past matt and into his own apartment. Matt still hadn't acknowledged me, and i was still glued to the ground i was standing on. Reminiscing on the events of the past hour or so that still weren't fully registered in my brain.

I liked our little airport moment. Due to our agreement some years ago, noah never went with my to the airport when i left for school so the fact that i now had something in place of that was heartwarming beyond words.

Today has went by decently well, and i was not going to let this get in my way. I am confident, i am strong, and i have absolutely no feelings for matt. I can not hurt noah again, seeing how angry he was at me killed me to no end and i was not ready to repeat that mistake nor did i want too.

Gathering up the last few bits of my courage and dignity, and exhaled a breathe that i was unaware i was holding in the first place and started towards my apartment.

"dixie long time no see!" i heard matt say in his usual joyful voice, acting as if we had bumped into each other rather than him be standing outside of my home.

"hey matt! whatcha doing here?"

He was awfully nice to me these past few weeks, so i couldn't be straight up mean to him, i had no right do that.

"just checking in, i haven't seen you in a while" he smiled softly as i nervously rummaged my hands through my purse praying to find my keys sooner rather than later.

"i know, i've been so busy lately it's crazy with school and all"

"yea i understand, how was break? do anything fun?" he ask nonchalantly, leaning against my doorframe, blocking me from entering

"i stayed here, didn't do much just stayed in with my roommate"

"oh that's pretty cool"

"listen matt- after you slept over, i don't know what it meant or how you feel but we have to stay friends that's it"
