"i'm nervous" dixie said hesitantly as her and noah walked up the concrete steps too the front door of her parents house "don't worry it'll be fine i promise" noah said back, giving her hand a slight squeeze in reassurance, while she reached her other hand out to knock on the door

After landing in California, dixie and noah gathered their things and found their rental car for the next two weeks. They decided that noah would go with dixie to her parents house, per her request because she claimed she needed moral support, and after she was settled noah would drive back to his place to see his family.

Noah watched as dixie taped her foot on the pavement, he knew she was nervous to see her family again-she talked about it the whole ride there. How petrified she was to see her mom, hoping that they wouldn't be angry with her, hoping they would be proud of her for making it on her own. Coincidentally, noah wanted the same thing for her. He knew how much she cherished her family, and nothing would make him happier than to see her having a great time with the people she loves the most.

A few minutes passed by and the door still hadn't open, and dixie was growing more impatient by the second. "i'm sure they just didn't hear it, just knock again" noah said softly "i don't know, maybe this was a bad idea" dixie explained, letting out a huge sigh

Noah frowned, and leaned over kissing dixies forehead "just knock again, it doesn't hurt to try i swear" he said sweetly to her while she just nodded slowly, and once again knocked on the door slightly louder this time.

"coming!!" shouted charli from the other side of the door, which swung open seconds later.

A very happy charli stood in the door way, smiling brightly once her eyes landed on her sister. "no. way." charli screamed in disbelief, not hesitating to grab her sister by the hand and pull her into a great big hug.

Dixie complied, squeezing her baby sister like they hadn't seen each other in a lifetime, which wasn't completely wrong. Not long after they both began crying, but don't be confused- these tears were nothing short of pure joy.

About a minute passed and noah slightly laughed at the two sisters that were right in front of him.As expected, he was extremely pleased with charlis reacting too dixie.

The sound of noahs laugh made charli picked her head up from dixies shoulder seeing noah standing beside them for the first time, since she was so caught up in dixie she barely took time to look around. She quickly let go of dixie and her jaw dropped once again "no. fucking. way. your kidding" she exclaimed louder than before, which quickly alerted marc and heidi who were in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

Pushing dixie aside, charli ran over to noah giving him a hug equally as big as dixies. Noah chuckled, hugging her back and ruffled her hair while dixie sat back and watched in amusement. Noah and charli always had a great relationship, which was a good thing for dixie and she loved how they interacted.

Noah set charli down after a second, while Heidi glided into the main entrance of the house too see what all the commotion was about.

"charli grace! who's at the d-"

"mom...surprise?" dixie said awkwardly while charli and noah sat back and watched the show

"dixie! oh my god i've missed you- come here" heidi said quite panicked running over to the door and hugging her eldest daughter tightly, enjoying her company for.

"oh my gosh i've missed you so much" dixie whispered to her mom as she returned the hug

"i can't believe your both here" char said after a few minutes, looking back and forth between noah and dixie
