Part 33: One Of Their Birthdays

ding dong!

Iwaizumi could hear the muffled music coming inside the house, and he felt himself straighten up once he sees the doorknob turning.

Kageyama opened the door and beams, seeing Iwaizumi standing there with a wrapped present in his hands. "Hey Tobio. Happy birthday."

"Ah, Iwaizumi-san! You arrived!" Kageyams shuts the door behind him and smiles at the ace, "Did you bring your girlfriend?" Kageyama looks around but not seeing the girl.

"Sorry Tobs, she couldn't come because she had the flu..."

"You should be taking care of her, what are you doing here then?" Kageyama frowned at the boy, who rubbed the back of his neck. "She told-- no. Forced me to come. Saying that she didn't want me to miss your birthday."

"Oh...What a shame...I wanted to meet her though..." Kageyama pouts but shook his head, "Anyways, come in! I'm sorry if its really loud...Makki and Mattsun turned the music to the loudest volume-" Kageyama opened the door and both boys walked inside the house.

"Okay, time to eat everyone!" Oikawa clapped his hands, and his former teammates stood up from the couch.

Kageyama walks downstairs, fixing his t-shirt. "Ah, speaking of eating, the birthday boy is finally here!" Oikawa waved his boyfriend over, who blushed.

Kageyama got into position, behind the long table that was assorted with various food both of them baked and cooked.

The visitors crowded around the table, Oikawa among them. Oikawa secretly grabs the camera he bought with him in his pocket.

He turns the power button and films Kageyama. "Alright everyone...Let's all sing the Happy Birthday song. One...Two...Three...And...Go!"

"Happy birthday to you~"

Kuroo bumped his boyfriend in the shoulder, who glared at him in return. "Sing, Tsukki-"

"No-"

Everyone was in sync surprisingly, making Kageyama hide a small smile.

Once they stopped singing, they gave Kageyama a moment to make his wish. Kageyama closed his eyes and opened them after a few seconds, blowing the candles out.

Everyone clapped their hands, but Kageyama gaze was only focused on Oikawa, who was taking a picture of him.

Oikawa looks at him and they both make eye-contact.

It seemed like time slowed down...Just the two of them. Celebrating his birthday.

Kageyama was the first to break eye-contact, blushing and thanking those who came to his party.

Today was gonna be a blast, Kageyama could feel it. 

He was very lucky to have them in his life, his close friends and especially a guy with the name Oikawa Tooru.
