Chapter 5

Daniel's POV

"We should get ready now" mom says and she has ironed our clothes for tonight.

I don't know why she is so excited about that , but I like to see her happy.

"Suit???" I say

"Yes, what's wrong?" She says

"Mom, we're not going to a wedding,
but to the next house" I say and dad laughs

"He is right honey. He can just wear some sporty clothes" he says, and I'm thankful to him

" okay, okay " she says

After I change my clothes, I decided to put some parfum, and model my hair

I look like a... Penguin...

When I go downstairs all of them are ready. Mom has worn a dress, dad is wearing casual clothes, Austen too...and Stormy... a dress.

She probably is happy that she will see again "her new friend" that I don't seem to like.

"Let's go then" dad says and we all nod

As we arrived dad knocked and a short woman opened the door

"Welcome" she gives us a sweet smile, like my mom does.

"Thank you for inviting us for dinner!" My mom says as she hugs her

Excuse me? Is Covid a joke to y'all?

"This is my husband, Harry. My little boy, Austen, Stormy and Daniel "

Why am I the last one when I'm the oldest?? Like... this hurts...

"Nice too meet you all. Here's my husband, Greg. My boy, Kevin and..."

It seems like their girl is a ghostly person.

"Well and my daughter and she will be here in two minutes."

My dad is talking with Greg, my mom with Rose, and my two siblings with Kevin... little bastard

"Oh , there she is" she is directed to the stairs "...my daughter Emily " she smiles.

Emily? The Emily I know?

I'm afraid to look her, what if she is...

I turned back...

God, is my Emily

She's wearing a black dress, her caramel eyes are shining as she smiles to us and I see that she's as surprised as I am to see her...

Suddenly I can't breath the air, my heart is beating faster. My stress level is at the highest level now and I... God i don't know

Maybe this dinner will be better than I thought

"Hey..." she says and my heart melts immediately by her sweet voice

"I'm Emily and I'm sorry that I let you to wait" she says

I can swim all the oceans just to see her face... what if I waited just 15 minutes.

"Its okay darling... you look stunning " my mom compliments her.

I keep my eyes on her, I can't move them from her

She comes to me and...

"You..." she whispers, "I'm sorry for that day... I... "

"It's okay" I calm her down

"I didn't know that this is your house" I say to her.

"i didn't know that you're my new neighbour too"

We laugh together and all people are seeing at us

What the hell? Can you get your eyes off from us?

"What?" I said

"Nothing, just you don't usually talk with people and I'm impressed "

Okay mom is treating me as a child , not like a 18 year old. And also why should she said that to the audience?

Emily's POV

I turn the phone off and I'm searching for a dress to wear tonight.

I don't like wearing dresses, but I should if I don't want to argue with my mom.

God I have so many dresses, but I like noone of them. I mean like... I don't have nothing to wear.

Finally I find a black one. The fabric is very beautiful and I will probably will wear this one.

I go to Kevin's room and I found clothes for him too

I ironed them and now I should be ready

"Emily, Kevin they will be here in 5 minutes. Be ready please" mom says

What??? That early?? Well I probably will be late.

"I'm coming" I hear Kevin minutes later. They're here.

Disaster. I have just worn my dress. I don't put make up so I curly my hair and spray some parfum.

Now ready to go... God meeting new people is my weak point. I prefer staying alone in my room.

Anyway I decide to go.

What... Daniel... he... is here? That can't be real, I might be dreaming. He's just... handsome. He looks surprised seeing me as I look too

I can't make eye contact with him. I will flush if I do.

My heart is beating faster, I can barely breath and I feel like I'm dreaming . Everyone's attention is at me... my face has turned to red...

I'm lost now, lost in my mind ...

"Oh, there she is..." my mom proudly says "...my daughter Emily"

"Hey..." I say to everyone as soon as I arrive at living room "I'm Emily and I'm sorry I let you to wait" I managed to find more formal words but... with him looking at me I just can't

"It's okay darling...you look stunning" Daniel's mother says to me

I met her two days ago and she is a very sweet and understanding woman. I know she and my mom will get in touch very well with each other .

I gave her a smile and then... I can't help but I go closer to him

"You..." I'm making eye contact with him and I lost. What is that?? I can't even talk... I'm blocked

"I'm sorry for that day ... I... "

"It's okay" he says before I finish my sentence and I'm glad he did.

"I didn't know that this is your house" he says with a smile.

"I didn't know that you're my new neighbour too" I fire back and we two laugh.

At the end of the night I might go to the hospital becuase every time he smiles my heart experience a mini - heart attack

"What?" He says to his mom and I finally come back to reality.

"Nothing, just you don't usually talk with people and I'm impressed " she answers and he rolls his eyes.

Damn boy, you're bad for my health.

I want to touch his face with my palm, I want to feel his arms around me as he hugs me. I want to make sure he is with me.

What?? What am I thinking? I'm just a eighteen year old girl and ... now he... is messing my thoughts?
