The group once again go into chaos but this time me and Carl join in.

"WE DONT KNOW THE GUY, HE COULD BE WITH THE LOT FROM TERMINUS FOR ALL WE KNOW."

"WE KILLED THE PEOPLE FROM TERMINUS THERE NOT GONNNA COME BACK TO LIFE AND KILL US DIPSHIT."

"HE LOOKS LIKE A RIGHT DICK HE SHOULDN'T BE ALOUD IN."

Whether it's shouting or muttering, everyone in the group has a say about the new guy. I look over to him and see he's looking at himself in the mirror and fixing his hair. He sees that I'm staring at him, he winks. I turn away, my heart pumping, I step closer to Carl.

My Carl.

"Listen," the boy says, he starts towards us and puts his hands in his pockets, "argue all you want, but it would be a shame if you let me go." He sighs.

"What do you mean?" Carl steps in front of me, almost protecting me from this guys view.

"I mean I can hunt, I can cook, I can shoot, I'm pretty good at building, I'm stunningly attractive, and I'm extremely good with the ladies." I hear Carl release a low growl.

"Dad we can't let this guy in, he's a cocky son of a bi-"

"Watch your mouth Carl." Rick warns

"Dad please, he's just gonna cause trouble, we're fine as it is, we're surviving and that's all that matters." Carl pleads. I nod my head in agreement and some other members do as well. Others shake there heads.

"We're be safer if there's more of us, the more of us there are the more likely it is that we will survive." Tyreese says, Rick considers this.

"Before we let you in, we're asking you questions, understand?"

"Dad!" Carl shouts, Rick ignores him.

"Got it." Jake takes his hands out of his pockets and gives the thumbs up to Rick. Daryl and Carol walk up to him and push him down into a chair. Then, the questions begin.

_

"How many walkers have you killed?" Rick asks.

"More then you can count." Jake replies

"How many humans?"

"19."

19! He's my age and he's killed 19 people, yes I'll admit I have killed about 4 but 19 is way to many. This guy isn't safe to be around.

"How did you find us?"

He sighs, "I've been on the road for a while, alone, on Saturday I was camping in the woods and heard screams, but not not terrified screams, happy screams. I see these two teenagers in the water next to a church." He points at me and Carl and everyone looks our way. I hide behind Carl, he squeezes my hand for reassurance.

"I didn't want to introduce myself straight away because, come on, a boy this attractive introducing himself to a girl with only one other person around, the girl would never leave me alone, I mean come on." He smirks at me.

Carl growls again.

"I camped around the church for a couple of days, making sure you guys looked like decent people, and then boom I'm here." Jake rubs his hands together. If I didn't know any better I would say he was slightly nervous.

Silence hangs over the group, we all hang on suspense about what Rick is going to do. After what seems like an eternity, he speaks.

"I think it would be nice to have an extra pair of hands around, I say we let him stay." Rick announces.

"WHAT!?" Both me and Carl say in unison.

"Aww what a nice welcome this is," Jake gets up, so do me and Carl, Carl drags me by the hand to two chairs in the opposite side of the room, we both then sit down.

"I don't trust this guy." Carl growls. " It looks like he has a thing for you."

"Carl listen that's not true, I have the face of a troll and a personality like one as well, Carl listen he doesn't like me." I mutter urgently.

"Your beautiful, anyone can see that." He whispers and kisses my check.

I snuggle into his shoulder and sit there, I can tell that Carl is watching Jake unpack, just like me. I pull a loose piece of skin from my lip, it tears off, a trail of blood then drips down my chin.

"April are you ok-" Carl says, concerned.

"Yeah I just hurt my lip, I'll go get a tissue." I say.

"No! I want to, I don't want you near that guy."

I sigh, his gestures of concern may be sweet but there kind of annoying. "Carl trust me, I can do this." I start to walk away, I wipe the blood off with my hand and try to suck the lip so no more of the liquid comes out. Unzipping my bag, I find a tissue and dab it gently on my lip. I then throw it back in my bag and walk back to Carl. Jake walks past me nudging my shoulder slightly. I rub it,

God this boy was quite strong, wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him.

Jake stops and turns around so he's looking at me.

"Sorry." He says, "didn't see you there." this joke was obviously made because he's tall and I look like a dwarf beside him.

"Haha." I laugh sarcastically. I see Carl starting to get up from his seat, his eyes filled with an emotion that is clearly jealousy.

Why is he jealously? I look like a troll, this guy doesn't even like me, and I now know that after making that short joke, I defiantly don't like him.

I walk past Jake and start towards Carl, a wet hand lands on my shoulder and I turn around. Jake smiles at me the speaks "you have really nice eyes, has anyone ever told you that?" I'm guessing this was his way of flirting.

I've always been awkward with compliments, even though I don't actually get them very often. When i was in high school the constant remarks from the other girls in my year really got to me, I was an outcast to most of the people in my school. While they were out partying, I was in my room watching interviews of 5 Seconds of Summer, and probably reading fanfiction.

I've never had good self esteem so I really don't know how to respond to people complementing me. "I um ju- I tha- thanks?" I say. He winks at me but stops when I feel Carls arms around my waist, Carl quickly pulls me away from him and we both walk back towards the chairs. "Carl I don't like this guy." I say, and it's true, there's something not right about him.

"Me to." He grunts, I stop him walking by putting a hand to his chest, I put my finger under his chin and tilt his head down.

"I only like you Carl, no one else, understand?" He nods and then kisses my forehead. We then both reach the chairs and sit down. I Cuddle him and he cuddles me, the moonlight seeps through the windows making out reflections of the group. Carl starts to play with my hair and I smile. "I've noticed you haven't said any rude remarks about my ass today." I say, trying to lighten the mood.

Carl soon gets his cockiness back and then speaks. "Well I was actually just thinking some remarks up in my head." He says. I laugh. "I'm so glad I met you. You know that?" I smile and kiss him lightly on the lips.

"You make me so happy Carl." I mutter, my eyes start to close and the feeling of tiredness overwhelms me. The last thing I hear is him chuckling and the last thing I feel is him kissing my cheek before I fall into oblivion.
