It's Friday, and Gon feels particularly...content today.

He walked with a light skip in his step down the walkway lined with trees towards the school, his aura seemed brighter and...well, happy. He walked passed the other students that stood outside of the school talking, waiting for the day to start.

Gon walked to his locker, his hair bouncing a little; he hadn't noticed before but its gotten a little longer than usual, curling a little. He couldn't spike it up anymore, so he was a bit sad about that.

He opened his locker, dropping a few things off, overhearing a few conversations, one that's been repeating itself for a day now.

"Oh my gosh, Uzumaki, you scared us so much."

"You didn't contact anyone, we were so worried."

Numerous words of worry and concern were said, overlapping each other until the person in question spoke up,

"Girls, girls," Uzumaki spoke, interrupting the many voices of her friends. "I told you yesterday, I was just sick, don't worry. I was barely on my phone to begin with." She smiled reassuringly.

"Well, I'm glad your back." Her best friend, Kikyo, pushed through the girls, bringing Uzumaki into an embrace. Uzumaki seemed hesitant for a moment, almost contemplating before returning the hug. "I missed you too, Kikyo."

Gon smirked at the entire exchange.

Just a few hours...

Everyone was startled when the first bell rang, indicating to get to their each rightful homerooms. Gon took one last look at the girls, one last look at Kikyo and...Uzumaki, smirking, the little glint of mischief twinkling in his eye.

The day continued as usual, Gon actually paying attention in class, taking notes and acing the occasional pop quiz one of his teachers would announce. A breeze like usual...

"Oh, Gon." The boy turned around towards his teacher, Mr. Jung. "I heard you're going to perform a piece of music for us at lunch today, I look forward to it and good luck."

Gon smiled, bowing, "Thank you, sir, I'll try my hardest." Gon had talked to the music teacher the day before about playing a piece of music for the entire school to practice for upcoming recitals, and Gon was quite a prodigy at piano so it's not surprising his music teacher gushed to others about him.

With that being said, Gon turned to exit the classroom and onto the next class.

The time for lunch came and all the students scattered to their usual places; the rooftop, cafeteria, or center courtyard. A group of girls, including Kikyo and Uzumaki, sat down in the courtyard eating their premade lunches, gossiping about their personal lives or whatever came to mind.

There was something particularly off about the whole scene; Killua, normally sitting at the fountain, was now nowhere to be seen.

But somewhere in the deafeningly silent, empty halls..heavy footsteps echoed off the walls making their way to the music hall.

"Ah, Gon, my shining pupil!" A woman squealed as the tan boy entered the hall.

Gon smiled, "Hello to you too, Ms. Rin," Gon bowed. "I'm here for my piano presentation."
