Y/n's POV

Me and Peter sat in silence until Mr. Reycold walked in.

"Hello, class. Today we're going to continue our projects from yesterday," Mr. Reycold said and sat down signaling for us to get to work.

"So, where do you wanna start?" I asked.

"I think we should start figuring out what materials we're gonna use for the container," Peter said.

Oh my god, I love how nerdy he is! No, no stop, you don't have time for boyfriends.

"Y/n? Hello?"

"Oh, yeah sorry I...got distracted," I said and pushed down the blush of embarrassment.

"It's okay," Peter assured me. "So, how did you do it when you made the, um, container?"

"Well, there are different ways to do it but I didn't have much at the time so I just used objects I found around my-my house," I said ending the sentence softly.

"Did something happen?" he asked. "At your old house I mean."

"Yeah, I guess you could say that. I think that's a conversation for another time though," I said.

"Yeah of course. I get it." he said.

"How is it that a great guy like you only has two friends? I mean I would think everyone loves you,"

"I don't know, I guess I'm not very social," Peter said.

"Yeah I get that, especially when you have that guy breathing down your neck," I said pointing to Flash who was winking at me. "Ew."

"Hey, y/n?" Flash said coming over to us.

"Hide me," I said and ducked under the table making Peter laugh.

Peter's POV

Okay, how could this girl literally get cuter?!

"Hey, Parker, where'd y/n go?" Flash asked.

"She's not here," I said.

"What do you mean I just saw her?" Flash said.

"Well, she left,"

"Well, when she comes back can you tell her I'm having a party tonight and she's invited," Flash explained.

"Sorry, I'm busy," y/n said popping up from under the table.

"Why were you under the table?" Flash asked.

"I...dropped something," she said.

"Hey what's going on over there?" Mr. Reycold asked.

"Flash is disturbing us while we're doing our work," y/n blurted out but calmly.

"I-I di-" Flash stuttered but Mr. Reycold cut him off.

"Go back to your seat Flash and focus on your own work," Mr. Reycold said.

"But I-" Flash stopped when he got a glare from the teacher. "Fine."

Y/n sat back down and giggled as she watched Flash walked back to his seat.

"You are...amazing! I mean, how did you do that?" I asked.

She giggled even more, "Honestly, my heart kinda stopped for a moment," she said. "By the way my foster uncle said it was okay for me to go over your house after school."

"Cool," I said, it was a bit awkward after that but we continued our work. When the bell rang we went our separate ways until lunch.

Y/n POV

"You ready?" I asked Peter as he put his books in his locker.

"Yup," he replied and shut the locker. We walked in silence to his apartment but it was a familiar silence like the ones you never want to leave because you don't want to ruin it.

"This is it right here," Peter said when we reached his apartment. He got out his keys to open the door but it swung open before he even found the right key. "Hey, Aunt May." he said nervously.

"Oh my gosh, you must be y/n!" his Aunt almost yelled. "I'm May, Peter's Aunt."

"It's nice to meet you," I said and shook her hand.

"Oh, I'm sorry. You guys come on in," she said when she realized we were still in the hall. "So, y/n do you know how long you're staying?"

"My foster uncle wants me home by 5:30," I said simply.

"You live in a foster home? I'm sorry," May pitied. I hate when people pity me.

"It's fine, really. I've gotten used to it and it's not all that bad," I said and chuckled a bit at the end. She just smiled but I could see the sorrow she had for me seeping through it. Although there was something else behind her eyes like worry but not for me.

Normally, I would just read her mind and find out but I had been trying to stop doing that unless absolutely necessary.

"We're gonna go to my room to work on our project," Peter said seeing that the silence was starting to get uncomfortable.

"Okay, have fun but not too much fun," May said as we walked away.

"May!" Peter said knowing her intentional meaning.

"What? You never know," May said which made me laugh a little. Not that it wouldn't happen but the fact that her mind went straight there.

"Sorry about Aunt May she's a bit weird," Peter said and sat down in his swivel chair.

"That's okay, I like weird," I said and sat on his bed next to him. "Star Wars fan?"

"Yeah. You?" he asked.

"Totally, [Insert cool Star Wars fact]," I said. (I'm sorry I'm not a fan so I know nothing about it😬)

"Really? That's so cool!" Peter said. We stood talking for a little while longer before deciding to actually do some work and before we knew it, it was already 5 o'clock.

"Wow, I guess time really does fly when you're having fun," I said when I checked the time.

"Hey, you said your foster uncle wanted you home by 5:30 right? I could walk you home. Only if you want though," Peter said shyly which made me giggle at his awkward cuteness.

I opened my mouth to reply but was interrupted by my "Highway to Hell" ringtone. I looked down at my phone to see who the caller was and grunted. He always ruins everything.

"Sorry, I have to take this," I said and answered the phone.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Y/n, I need you back at the house," Fury said urgently.
