Chapter 13

Narrator's POV

After a few hours of contemplating the additional information that was in the folder, y/n stood up and walked out. Normally, Peter would just stay there and give her space but he was worried about what her next actions might be.

"Y/n? Where are you going?" Peter asked.

"Fury." she replied, her bandaged wing dragging behind her.

"What are you going to do?" Peter asked.

"Just talk, I don't know. I just need to see him first then I'll decide." Y/n said and started walking faster to base.

When they got there Fury was instructing people to go get their weapons and where they were going to be stationed.

"What's going on?" Y/n asked hoping it had something to do with Gigi.

"Y/n?" Fury asked surprised to she her. "What are you doing here?"

"We can talk about that later." she replied and went to get a weapon herself just in case.

"What's going on?" Peter asked again.

"They have a lead on Gigi." Y/n said as she loaded her gun.

"Where?" Peter asked.

"An underground base about 5 miles from here." Fury said.

"Then, what are we waiting for?" Peter asked and activated his suit (iron spider version).

They didn't take many people with them, it was just y/n, Peter, Fury, Hill and two others so they didn't raise much attention. Plus y/n and the Spider were enough to take down any base alone. When they got to the estimated location there was no one they could see guarding the place so naturally they thought they were off a bit but y/n could hear things coming from under the ground.

"Wait, those are animals." y/n said focusing on the sounds coming from below. "Those are voices."

"You hear voices coming from underground?" one of the agents asked.

"I have many abilities." she said and followed the path of voices until a heard a little girl's squeal. "Gigi."

"She's down there?" Peter asked.

"Yes, somewhere over here. We just need to find the entrance now." y/n said.

"Hill, you take Johnson and Carter and look on that side. I'm with the kids, notify me if you find anything or if you catch trouble." Fury instructed.

"If we can't find an opening then I'm making one." y/n said.

"You can do that?" Peter asked.

"You bandaged a 16 foot wing coming out of my back yet you doubt I can create my own way into an underground base?" y/n asked.

"Enough yapping." Fury said and took off in the direction they were to search.

After, what felt like a couple hours Hill notified them that they had found a way in on the other side. Y/n, Fury and the Spider rushed over to find only Agent Hill standing, the other two were on the ground either dead or knocked out it was hard to tell.

"What happened?" Fury asked.

"Sir, I think you should see this." Hill said and she lifted up the sleeve of Agent Johnson's arm.

"Hydra?" Peter asked as he examined the tattoo more.

"How is this possible?" Fury asked. "We dismantled Hydra."

"Cut off one head, two more shall take its place." y/n quoted.

"We have to get Gigi before it's too late." Hill said.

"Right." y/n said and started to follow Maria as she lead the remaining people to the entrance until a blood churning scream started to echo in y/n's head. She dropped to her knees as she screamed in agony due to the pain the volume caused her.

"Y/n!" Peter yelled and ran to her side.

"No, go get Gigi I'll be fine." she yelled and let out another scream in pain, the veins in her head popping out. The tremendous pain caused her to lose control of her power again and thick and thorny vines rose from the ground.

"I'm not leaving you here. Fury you have to go get Gigi." Peter said. Y/n would have protested against it but the screams just kept getting louder and screams from others started to join in. Fury and Hill ran into the building to get Gigi while y/n tried closing off her mind to stop the screams but it wasn't working. The vines grew taller and sharper with each of her screams of agony.

"Y/n! Y/n! You need to calm down!" Peter yelled over the noise trying to comfort her for about 30 minutes.

"I can't! The screams, the pain it won't stop! It won't stop!" she cried. "please I just want it to stop..." she whispered and buried her head into Peter's arms, when she did she felt a sense of comfort and warmth. The voices lowered a bit and so did the pain and the vines.

"Hey, look it's working. Keep doing what you're doing." Peter said.

The more he talked the more soothed y/n became and the lower the pain and vines became. "I'm not doing anything," she said and they shared a confused look. Until, he took off his mask and she was staring into his bright brown eyes. Then, she understood. "I'm not doing anything. You are." y/n smiled.

"What?" he asked and before he could question anything else she devoured him into a kiss. The screaming stopped, the pain stopped, the vines stopped, the world stopped. "What just happened?" Peter said as he smiled when they broke the kiss.

"You did." y/n laughed. Then, the ground about a hundred or two feet away from them blew up. Parts of the ground and ash flying in all different directions. Fury and Hill running out of the doors they had once entered with Gigi running by their side. She was different, she had grown to about 4 feet.

"Gigi?" y/n asked.

"Not the time for explanations." Gigi yelled and grabbed Peter and y/n by the arms dragging them away from the Hydra base. Apparently, Fury, Hill and Gigi had triggered the bombing system the base had and that's why the ground was blowing up. As the last bomb went off they had just gotten back to the car and were about to take off.

"What happened down there?" Peter asked. No one answered. They just all looked at each other with horrified faces. Fury and Hill had only been down there for 45 minutes, an hour at most but it seemed like a lot bad had gone wrong within that time span.
