Hey guys! I miss writing so much, I wish I could do this full time instead of juggle it with school....and life! I hope you all like this short chapter and don't forget to comment what you think, good or bad!Sorry about the lateness of this chapter and by late I mean like a few months late :/
"How do you guys-"
"You're stupid man, I love you, but you're stupid"
"Stop cutting me off!" Austin whispered harshly.
Joel rolled his eyes and I laughed. It was good to have him back. We did lose him for a short amount of time but it felt like longer than a couple of days. It made me realise that it was a lot harder to lose someone you loved than I thought. I'd never had to experience something so traumatic, I'd either been too young or not even born yet.
"Can we stop messing around and get him the hell out of here" Jake almost yelled.
Joel flinched as if he was lost in his own thoughts for those 30 seconds that we had paused for. His eyes that were glazed over suddenly became alert and he sprung into action. It was weird seeing Joel so out of it- so distracted. At the same time that it didn't look like him, it seemed like he was showing more of who he was. It made sense knowing that I haven't known him for long.
"Can you stand" I turned back to Austin.
He gave me a dull look. "I'll try"
"Oh?" I asked. "I half expected a smart ass comment"
"We've got plenty of time for that later" He winked and I had a feeling he wasn't talking about smart ass comments.
"Don't make me regret bringing you here Ave" I heard Jake comment.
"Now why would you do that?" I turned to smile innocently at Jake only to be grabbed onto and shoved forward.
I stumbled and almost fell if it wasn't for the same hands that grabbed onto my shoulders, hold onto my waist. I looked at Austin who had a sheepish smile. "Sorry" He laughed.
He still held onto me.
"God Austin, how unsteady are you?"
"Are you going to be able to jump out a window?" Joel asked.
I looked at him weird. "Joel you made that sound wrong?"
"Gee Joel, I've literally been reincarnated and you're already telling me to jump?" A large grin spread across his face.
"I meant will you be able to jump out a window and into a helicopter you asshole"
"Oh I'm the asshole now?"
"Ye.." The sounds of a helicopter drowned out Joel's next words and we all knew- except maybe Austin, what we had to do next.
"Okay guys we have to move fast and when I say fast, I mean really fast, in about two minutes everyone will realise there is a damn helicopter too close to a hospital window, if they haven't already" Jake started barking orders.
"Austin, come on, I'll help you" Joel continued.
Austin literally hobbled over to the now open window and I watched- carefully like a hawk staring at it's prey as Joel helped him onto the ledge. Both their hair ran backwards, almost as if they were in a shampoo and conditioner ad and they looked back at us. Austin winked at me, obviously seeing the absolute worry on my face and I mustered a half smile.
"See you soon love" He yelled, it could've been because of the sounds of the choppers spinning wildly which caused a loud noise, or because he wanted the whole world to hear, knowing him, it would of been the latter.
