"I don't mind tellin' you yahoos, it doesn't look like ya got a pot to piss in between the lot of ya" Veranke had a smirk on her face as she sat on the chair that it has been provided to her by Spider-Man. She was currently disguised as Jessica Drew, infiltrating the team to be able to get the information straight from the source. She watched as the Thing looked straight at Luke Cage and Daniel Rand, also known as the heroes Power Man and the Iron Fist respectively.

"Since I ain't losing a hand, Grimm, I ain't got that problem" Veranke couldn't help it but glanced at who was currently the only one she truly trusted. Spider-Man had a frown on his masked face, something that was the weirdest thing she had seen ever since she infiltrated the place. She wanted to see him smiling and joking once more. It intimidated her to see him in such a state.

"I promise you, Ben, that I have everything covered here" Veranke couldn't help but roll her eyes at the voice of the Iron Fist. She couldn't believe that the real Spider-Woman would actually date him when she had Spider-Man there right besides her all the time. It was something she didn't understand, but was not risking her identity being discovered for wanting to ask said question. Plus she was enjoying his company as time went on, not that the man even noticed. She even dressed in her underwear when Peter Parker, who she knew was Spider-Man, came to her department to spend a bit of time together and the man didn't even react, probably because in his mind he had already made a connection that the real Jessica and himself would only be friends.

"Uh-huh" Spidey heard Ben grunt out as he kept his eyes set on the table they were going to play poker in. His mind didn't leave the matter behind, still remembering how Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, had died. "What about you girlie?" Peter raised his head slightly, seeing how Ben had asked Jessica a question. Peter couldn't help but sigh a bit as he looked down once more. Jessica had been acting strange ever since she went missing for a bit. He had asked many times what was really happening, but she would always avoid the topic. "I like seeing the eyes of the folks I play cards with"

"Spider-Man's got his mask on" Veranke still felt a bit weirded out when using a voice that it wasn't her own. She would normally send a peon down to Earth to infiltrate the Avengers, but since Jessica's best friend Carol Danvers, also known as Miss Marvel, could identify skrulls with ease minus herself, she deemed it worth it enough to be the one to successfully infiltrate the heroes of Earth.

"I ain't talkin' about Spider-Man" Peter was slightly glad that Ben would actually give him space. He knew that his eyes were puffy red with all the crying he had done when he had found out about Steve's demise. He couldn't even process it correctly with all the things that were currently happening. He even was using the black suit that Felicia had gifted him, so imagine how destroyed he actually felt.

"Don't trust me?" Veranke has changed her grin into a serious expression. Seemingly glaring slightly at the Thing, who sat across from her. While she knew that she was indeed deceiving them, she had to act like she was Jessica Drew and feel offended about the mistrust.

"I dunno. Where'd'ya stand with HYDRA this days?" That immediately made Veranke fully glare at the Thing. She heard Power Man say something, but she completely ignored what he had said. She even stood up, Venom Blast being replicated in her hand as she was preparing herself to blast the Thing to oblivion.

"I'm going to knock that stupid face off your-"

"Sit down Jessica'' Peter calmly said as he put a hand on the hand which had the Venom Blast activated, making his 'work-wife' glance back at him in confusion. Peter was really worried about Jessica, but he could understand this time around... It involves HYDRA after all. Something he knew that Jessica wanted to forget. "He's just trying to psych you out"
