"I can see it..." She whispered, her eyes looking at the horizon. She sat besides the unmasked Spider-Man, who she had immediately known to be Peter Parker, watching the sunset together. She could see the beauty that the sun provided the world when it was time to make way for the night, but she also saw that a boat was approaching them. It made her smile knowing that she was finally able to get out of the Savage Land once again. "Look... Is our rescue ship"
It had been almost a full month since the two of them were stranded in the Savage Land, and she was happy to know that Ka-Zar and Shanna had been there to help them whenever they needed it. Food and water was no problem for the two of them, she knew the land of her birth quite well to find areas where they could easily find resources to survive day by day. So to her, it felt like a nice vacation. And she was sure that it was one for the arachnid hero beside her.
"I wish they would just turn around..." She giggled at his tone, knowing full well that he had been more relaxed than he had ever been before. She always sees him swinging through New York, fighting against his villains and trying to survive another day. It must be tedious to live such a life. "I was really getting used to this..." She nodded, overlooking the approaching ship. She could agree with his words, their routine was already their norm. It was the way the two of them were living to see another day. Knowing that it was at his last moments, was heartbreaking. "And I rather spend a little more time with you"
She blushed slightly, giving the man a small smile in return. She had come to love the man behind the mask, spending almost one month together and doing everything together for their own protection was real eye opening. She had gotten to know an amazing man who just wanted to help others. His resolve became her own as well, she wanted him to succeed in his self appointed mission. It was the least she could do to support him further.
"You know... I just don't want to return to the place where I am fighting alone" His words made her react almost instantly, her eyes squinting slightly in sadness. She hoped that she would get the chance to be beside him, to be able to help him with his dailies. "To a place where I have to fight for everything" She wanted to be the pillar that he could hold on to, the one there for him through everything. Plus, she could not see herself with anyone else. The month they spent together made her know that she was unable to live without him. "It gets tiring..."
She did not know what to say, her eyes shedding slight tears. Each emotion she could feel through his voice was like a stab to her heart. She didn't know that the hero who would always act happy and joke would be this broken inside. She was so blind, her eyes unable to see what was in front of her until the last second. It really made her conscious of what was really happening with the hero that she had gotten to know and love.
"You know, I just wish the whole world could see this one sunset" Vertigo, the alias she used to do hero work, just smiled at him yet again. This time, however, she moved her head to be able to look at him. Her eyes were looking straight at him with a serene expression, showing him that she felt something for him. It was hard not to, moments spent together were surging through her mind once again. And she wanted to show him just what she felt.
"Peter, I think we talked enough for today" She stated, her eyes still staring right at the man beside her. She could hear a soft chuckle escaping from his throat, making her smile quite a bit. She neared her face to his own, accommodating her green hair slightly as she kept getting nearer and nearer. Her lips touched his own, immediately feeling sparks running through her body.
She felt just how Peter hugged her, pulling her in to continue the kiss between the two. She moaned slightly, their kiss becoming slightly intense. She even began to use her tongue as well, massaging it with his own. She grabbed his arm a bit tightly, holding it with every ounce of care she could actually muster. She slowly began to separate herself from the kiss looking at him with all the love she could muster. Her smile brightened up as soon as she noticed that Peter was also smiling right at her.
"But I need you to know this..." She whispered, her green eyes staring directly into his hazel ones. She could feel the attention that he was giving her, and it made her happy to know that she wouldn't need to attract him to make him focus on her. It was a great moment for the two. "I will not allow you to be alone any longer" She continued, her lips kissing his forehead. She loved being with him, through the good and the bad. She had an amazing time going through them in the Savage Lands, she just knew that she was going to have an even amazing time with the man back in the states. "Not while I'm still breathing"
She just stayed there, holding Peter in her arms. She looked back towards the horizon and while she saw that the ship was far more closer than before, her eyes were focused on the sun. She loved the meaning some people would give to the sunset and the sunrise. Because that was her story. Her past was now laid behind her, it was time to enjoy a new beginning with Peter beside her. A new chapter to the book began with this scenery before her, and she knew just how she wanted to start it.
