In the heart of New York City, where skyscrapers kissed the sky and the city's heartbeat was a symphony of chaos, Peter Parker and Yuriko Oyama's destinies intertwined in a dance of love and conflict. A gruesome and painful fight that was making the two of them wish it never had started in the first place. She could only wish that she was prepared to leave it all behind, the life she faked to be able to track down the fraudulent Weapon-X Project. She never expected to have fallen for the man behind the mask of Spider-Man, yet here she was.

"Yuriko, please stop this..." She wished she could, her eyes glaring at the webbed up scientists that were currently behind the hero. She couldn't, not when they were right in front of her. Her family was the only one that should have the Adamantium metal, it had been her father the one that processed and created said indestructible metal. It has also been the reason why she hated every single member of the Wolverine's family, the mutant family that had stolen what was her and her family to own. "You destroyed the facility, shut down the program... But killing them is not the answer"

"They dared use my father's work, Peter-kun!" She exclaimed in rage, though not loudly enough to be heard by anyone else except the hero in front of her. She even let out some of her japanese manners slip in for a moment, her cheeks blushing slightly at the endearing honorific she gave him. It was then that their clash continued, with metal hesitantly striking the webs of the hero. She didn't want to hurt him, not when this was a personal matter to begin with. The first time she met him, their connection had surprisingly exploded in a positive way very quickly. She had found someone who could truly understand her own self-loathing and anger. "Adamantium only belongs to the Oyama family!"

"I understand, I really do... But instead of falling into their level, prove to yourself that you will be better than them" Spider-Man, or Peter Parker as she got to know him, once again stopped her from killing yet another scientist. She could see the scared look that each of the spineless men currently had, and it made her honestly think that these men were not even worth the mess her nails would be in. But then she remembered her promise, her vow to her dying father. One that had been made mentally and not vocally, the reason why she hated Wolverine's family with a passion. And while she had teamed up with a few of those members in the past, it was merely out of convenience and not because she was on friendly terms with the Adamantium wearing family of thieves.

It was then that she willed her powers to slowly reduce the size of her nails, the metal then slowly transforming back into her normal pointy fingers she would usually have. She was unable to fully transform her hand into a human one, but that was not here or there. She only managed to glare at the scared shitless scientist once more, her eyes closing for a bit as she turned around. She did what she came here to do, Peter was right to begin with. She was here to stop the fraudulent Weapon-X Project, not to kill anyone. She breathed in and out, calming the rage in her heart as she glanced back a bit more softly towards the hero. A silent message was being communicated between the two, their eyes being the only one talking at the silent factory.

Time Skip

"I'm sorry if I stopped your mission, but you need to let the past rest..." Yuriko Oyama didn't have to look to the side to know that it was Spider-Man to utter those words. The two stood on top of one of the many other buildings in the area, her eyes carefully watching just how the police arrived at the scene and began to enter the factory seemingly to arrest the people there. The sun rose over them, painting the sky in hues of orange that were slowly turning blue, bathing them in the sudden realization that the two of them had been fighting each other for the majority of the night.

"The pain never goes away, Peter-kun... You know that more than anyone" She whispered, her eyes deviating from the sight below and staring right at the arachnid hero. The two of them were in their very own little world, no one there to stop what she was feeling for the hero. She could also see just how he slowly removed his mask, not surprised that he was giving her a sad expression at that very moment. She could understand why, but she didn't need it. Not right now, at least. "We both has lost someone that meant everything to us, and it was that pain that united us the first time we met"

"I know that the project that your father first founded had been used beyond belief... That you are only serving your sense of justice to those that have used your father's work beyond your family..." Yuriko's eyes opened widely for a fraction of a second, her eyes looking at Peter because of the words he had just stated. She had never allowed herself to be vulnerable, but those memories only managed to hurt her even further. Yet she stayed silent, her mind thinking of the reason why Peter was even telling this tale that she already lived through. "But you already proved today that you are more than your past, more than what your father would ever expect from you"

"My father... I will always keep him in my mind" She began, her voice trembling from the mere thought of him. Her father was the big man, the Kingpin, in Japan's black market. He had everything controlled with a ruthless iron fist, and she was supposed to inherit the title from her father the day she would get married to the man that he had chosen for her. Remembering that only made her sick in the stomach, her mind not imagining her with any other men that was not the hero across from her. "But it is you, Peter-kun... You are my present and hopefully, my future"

He smiled at her, which only made her give a smile of her own. However, she wanted more at that very moment. So, with little to no warning at all, she threw herself straight at the arms of the arachnid hero and began to passionately kiss him. She had found a love that defied all odds with Peter Parker, a love born not only from their shared pain but from the internal battle the two of them were constantly in. And while their story may have begun a while ago, it has been this day that cemented the love between the arachnid and the female that could manipulate her nails. A story that would show the strength of this sorrowful connection the two had created with one another.
