Her eyes were staring at the bustling streets of New York, eyes that looked tired and weary. Yet, she was happy with just enjoying the view. A change of perspective was all that she needed at this moment in time, and sitting down at the top of the Empire State building with her eyes focused on the civilians was more than enough. She could see just why she started to care, why she began this journey as a heroine. Her powers pulsed softly around her, calming her even further than before.

This was therapeutic for her, alleviating the pressure on her shoulder. But at the same time, she was in solitude. Her heart was broken by the daughter of Drax the Destroyer, though she could not blame her for taking such actions in their previous relationship. But being on Earth was soothing, and it made her forget about that moment in her life. It was then that she heard an unmistakable sound of a very well known hero swinging nearby. Her eyes tried to seek for the hero in question, her short white hair being carried by the wind softly.

"Phyla?" She turned around, her blue eyes looking at the white lenses of the hero's mask. His lenses were squinted, a narrow gaze looking straight at her. She gave a shy smile, her lips twitching upwards slightly. She was comfortable with the hero, the man was not responsible for her misfortune in her relationship. So, she didn't want to worry him much about it. Though she could tell that he may have an idea of sorts. "Is everything alright?"

"Thank you for worrying, Spider-Man, but everything is alright..." She deviated her eyes back into the beautiful view that was New York. She was thankful that she knew just how to hide her emotions. But she knew that she couldn't hide every single emotion. And it was the reason as to why she saw him getting closer to her. He even sat right next to her, her eyes glancing at him for a few seconds before looking back to where she was looking before. "There is nothing to worry about"

"You know that is not true" Spider-Man replied, getting her to flinch a bit. While most of the time her presence exuded a sense of otherworldly calmness, her heart was in complete disarray. Her eyes were watching the orange aura that the city held, the reflection of the sun over all the buildings in her view. It only made her feel worse, her emotions almost breaking through the shell that she had created for herself. "Maybe I can help, Phyla... I may not be an expert, but I have been known to be a great listener"

She stood silent, her ears drowned by the ambient sounds of the city. She drowned herself in it, trying her best to ignore not only the hero beside her, but her aching heart that throbbed against her chest. It was making her blur her own thoughts, a swirl that wanted to rule over her actions and take matters into her own hands. But even she knew that she couldn't force her to take her back, which was why she sat there right beside the red and blue arachnid hero on top of the Empire State Building. She wouldn't say it aloud, but she could feel just how their shared moment of camaraderie and friendship was improving amidst the darkness that surrounded her heart.

"I'm... I'm just lost..." She answered cryptically, her eyes glancing at the hero in question. She was not ready to tell him everything about what was really happening with her, especially when it was so fresh in her mind. But she noticed the worried tone in his questions, a similar voice that reminded her of the times that Moondragon used to have that same tone when she was worried for her. It only made her feel worse for not saying everything at that moment, but she was not ready. Even when guilt ate at her from the inside. "My life had a... drastic turn of events just recently..." She added, her words still not saying the full and complete message. She saw that he was able to recognize her intentions with her chosen words, glancing at just how his lenses seemed to narrow for a few seconds before he looked forward as well. She gave a silent sigh, deciding to also look to the front. "The universe has a funny way of throwing me into the pit from time to time"

"You don't have to tell me twice" She gave a weak smile at his response, a small chuckle escaping from her dark red lips. She remembered that he was one of the most unluckiest heroes on Earth, which only made her connect with him slightly. Despite the chaos in her heart, a connection formed between herself and Spider-Man. She understood that there was nothing she could do to heal his pain, just as there was nothing he could do to heal hers. A cycle of pain that surrounded the two endlessly. "Hopefully you will be able to get over that pain you hold in her heart"

"T-Thanks..." She whispered, a small blush appearing over her cheeks. Their conversation stopped for the briefest of moments, her hair moving slowly thanks to the punctuated movements made by the gentle rustle of the evening breeze. As the sun completely faded from view, she could only admire the dark sky. She was thankful for the hero that was next to her, giving her not only moral support but emotional support. She would have probably drowned herself in alcohol if she had not been visited by the arachnid hero. So, her heart was already thinking of him greatly. All the while her eyes were now consciously trying to steal glances at him. For a brief moment, the weight of her emotions faded away in the wind, replaced by the simple pleasure of spending time with the hero next to her.
