The mini orchestra was playing. The party was in full swing. The dancers were all playing tag as they maneuvered around the dance floor.

Lots of controlled chaos, perfect for potential distractions.

Step one of Taehyung's plan was complete, and step two would be started in the next few minutes.

Jin danced with Jungkook to the side of the room and asked to take a short break. He was hungry and there was still plenty of cake left on the table.

Seeing Jin alone at the dessert table, Namjoon made his way over, telling his date to wait for him at the edge of the dance floor so he could speak to his brother privately.

Since Jin was just Namjoon's brother, the girl didn't put up a fight over them interacting and agreed to wait at the side near the musicians.

"Hey, Jin."

"Hey Namjoon. Are you doing okay? Is your date bothering you?"

"I'm doing okay. It's just that weddings got me thinking. I realized that you will get married in about two years, but in all the years you've known about the arrangement, I've never once heard your opinion of it."

"What?"

"It's just that I realized that you were set up with a guy many years younger than you, but no one bothered to ask if you were gay or if the age gap bothered you. But you do like Jungkook, don't you?"

Jin smiled shyly. "I'll admit he is a bit young, but I don't really mind too much. He keeps me feeling and acting youthful, and for all these years, he's always been there to boost my confidence and shower me with love. I can proudly say that I'm going to marry the love of my life one day."

Namjoon nodded. "That's good. You deserve nothing but happiness after all the sadness you've had to deal with over the years."

"What about you?"

"What about me?"

"Don't you deserve happiness too?"

"I've had a pretty happy life so far. I can handle a little misfortune," Namjoon shrugged.

Jin could hear the resignation in his brother's voice, and he was not having it.

"Misfortune comes from events out of your control. You're an adult now, Namjoon. You have more control now than you ever have before, so why would you give up fighting for happiness now?"

"What is there to fight? I'm not a normal adult. You make things sound so simple, but it's more complicated than even I could figure out," Namjoon huffed. "I'm going to go back to dancing with my date. She's not as annoying as the girls before her, so maybe it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be."

Jin followed Namjoon back to the dance floor, and Jungkook came to meet them along with the girl.

Jungkook pat Namjoon's shoulder. "Ready?"

"Ready? For what?"

"Oh my god!" Taehyung yelled out of no where, getting everyone's attention and even stopping the musicians. "Yoongi's earring is missing!"
