Chapter 9

I get to the basement of our apartment and open the door to the gym.

I walk in and go straight to the punching bags putting my AirPods in I start to beat the shit out of it.

It takes me about 30 minutes to get tired and want to go back to sleep.

I put my AirPods into there case and grab my phone off the floor. I turn around to see Caden leaning against the door with his arms crossed.

Before I get a word out he pushes me into the wall and looks me in the eyes with his jaw clenched.

"You will not ever do that again, do you understand." He growls out through clenched teeth.

I get that he wants to protect me but I'm a grown ass women that knows how to protect herself.

I take my hand and push it against his chest trying to push him back. "I will do as I fucking plea...."

suddenly my wrist are pinned above my head and Caden's face is even closer.

"I said, do you understand?"

I nod my head.

"I need words Kasey" he growls

"I understand." I say through gritted teeth.

He let go of my wrists and watches me for a moment before he turn and walk to the door.

He doesn't walk out the door though .

He waits until I get all of my stuff and push through the door myself.

We head back up to our apartment in silence.

I barge through the front door and go to the kitchen I snatch a bottle of water out of the fridge and walk to my room.

I slam my door shut and lock it.

I chug the whole bottle and head to the shower to get this sweat off of me.

Once I'm out I place my pajamas back on and get into bed turning the tv on.

I grab teddy and pull him to my chest wishing to not have another bad dream.

I woke up at around 9 and called my mom to tell her about what has happened and why I didn't fight.

As I predicted she got worried and told me to stay near Caden at all times and to keep pepper spray on me.

I roll my eyes

"Mom I will be fine I promise. Who ever killed those girls can try there best to kill me but it will never happen."

"Just be careful, sweetheart."

"I promise."

"Ok sweetie, I have to get back to work. Love you."
"Ok, love you too"

I hang up the phone and lay back down in my bed.

I bury my head into my pillow and close my eyes. The nightmares didn't come back last night thank god but I still fill exhausted.

I hear a faint knock on my door but don't say anything.

"Kasey, are you awake." I hear on the other side of the door.

I keep my eyes closed and my head into the pillow.

2 seconds later like I knew he would, he picks my lock and opens the door.

He doesn't say anything as he walks over toward the bed and sits down on the edge.
He doesn't say anything but then I hear the sound of paper.
