Stevie was supposed to go back to Lindsey's hotel that night to spend some time alone with him, but after their conversation, she got her own room and spent all night tucked away in the safety of silence. It was just her and the very active baby that constantly reminded her that she wasn't really, totally alone... she still had someone who needed her, who was counting on her. And in many ways, she had begun depending on that baby just as much.

"You are my sunshine." She hummed, laying in bed as she ran her fingers across her tummy, pushing down softly to feel the baby kick.

She was trying hard not to get too attached... that wasn't her baby, but to not totally fall in love with the life growing inside of her was just impossible.

"My only sunshine." She added, sinking further into the sheets as her mind instantly drifted back to her husband.

She didn't want to be alone that night, but she also needed some space- some time to think, and even calm herself down after such an eventful evening. She was overwhelmed, and on top of that, all the hormones really didn't help much.

It had been years since they'd argued like that, probably almost an entire decade. They didn't yell at each other anymore, let alone throw things... she had done both, and even though she was really mad at him, she also felt a little bad about the way she handle it.

He kissed another woman... She had never done anything like that in their marriage. She didn't even think about other men, let alone push herself onto one.

She just couldn't be around him at that time. Her blood pressure was through the roof, and she had a migraine from hell after crying all the way back to the hotel. It was better if she distanced herself for the time being, so that's exactly what she did.

She wrote, she watched a movie, she sang to that baby and she thought about what she wanted... About what she needed.

And just a few blocks away, things were a little different for her husband. Lindsey spent his entire night trying to call her, leaving a hundred voicemails and pacing around his room in hopes she'd just pick up to talk. He just wanted to talk.

He needed to apologize for not only the situation he had found himself in, but also for the way he had disregarded her feelings when he told her.

The way he recalled what he had done totally came out wrong and before he had gotten the chance to explain himself any further, Stevie had throw water at him and booked it half way down the hall to get out of there.

Lindsey knew that he had said it like it wasn't a huge deal, when he was fully aware of the fact that it was kind of major. He had messed up, he knew that, but the look in her eyes- the deep saddest and disappointment, that was what really destroyed him.

He loved her more than he loved anything in the entire world and the very last thing he ever wanted to do was upset her like that. But he also couldn't go without telling her the truth... He never lied to her, ever. He told her everything, even if it meant he was in the dog house for awhile. So he would have rather he been furious, then her feel like she'd been left in the dark.

Nonetheless, he didn't get much sleep that night, instead he just laid awake, staring up at the ceiling as he thought about Stevie. So, when morning arrived and his alarm went off, he was already down in the lobby, getting himself a cup of coffee before he headed down the road to help set up for the baby shower.

"Good morning, dad." Elise met him in the doorway of the banquet hall, where everyone was rushing around to set up streamers, backdrops, table clothes, and each chair had a big yellow bow on the back.

That baby was loved beyond comparison already, it was very obvious by the lengths they had gone to make that the most perfect day in celebration of what would be the most perfect baby.
