Turning on his side, Lindsey wrapped his arm around her waist as he snuggled into her. "Happy anniversary, beautiful woman." He whispered, fingers dancing along the silk material of her nightgown.

Stevie let out a gentle laugh, taking his hand in hers as she felt him press himself into her backside a little more. "Happy anniversary, Linds." She brought his hand up to her mouth, kissing his knuckles before she shifted in bed to look into those ocean blue eyes. "Happy, happy anniversary."'She repeated quietly as she sat up on her elbow, allowing her eyes to scan over his face while the morning sun shinned through the drapes at a perfect angle.

"Did-" he was getting ready to ask her if she'd slept good, but the sound of little feet hitting the hardwood floor caught their attention.

"Papa?" Everleigh shouted as she came to a halt right outside their bedroom door.

Smiling lightly, Lindsey propped himself up on one elbow to see the door. "Evee?" He glanced over at his wife, who had slid up the bed and started readjusting her nightgown.

"Papa?" She repeated, a little giggle echoing down the hallway as she lingered right outside for another long minute.

"Evee? Is that you?" He teased, waiting for her to barge into the room like she did almost every morning.

And sure enough, with one hand on her hip and brown curls sticking up everywhere, Everleigh pushed open the door to reveal that little sly grin. "Of course it's me, papa!" She had her stuffed turtle in her hand as she raced through the room to jump on the foot of the bed. "Who else would it be, silly goose?" She was the sassiest little lady around... Lindsey swore she learned it from her grandmother.

"I was hoping you were coming in to tell us that you made breakfast." Lindsey laughed as she wrapped her arms around his neck tight.

Everleigh gave him a crazy look before she dramatically rolled her eyes. "Mimi said I can't touch the stove, because it will burn." She looked over at her grandmother, giving her a subtle wink to ensure that she, in fact, did listen... sometimes.

"Yeah, tell him." Stevie bit down on her low lip, eyes following Evee's every move.

She was Stevie's whole world... the light of her life, even.

"Oh, Mimi!" The little girl carefully scooted towards Stevie, sneaking into her lap with her turtle still in hand.

"Yes, baby?" Stevie left a little kiss on the side of her head as she combed through Everleighs thick curls.

"I made you something." She had the brightest little smile- one that melted her grandmas heart every time. "Happy anniversary, Mimi!" She exclaimed, pulling out a folded up piece of printer paper from a pocket on the stuffed turtle.

Stevie tossed her head back, letting a deep giggle fill the air around them as her eyes instantly began to water. "Thank you, sweet girl." She whispered, carefully opening up the handmade card. "Where did you make this?" She knew that Lindsey wasn't an arts and crafts kind of guy... he could put together a swing set, but that was about it.

"Umm, me and Elisee made it." She gave Stevie another cheeky smile as she recounted her afternoon with aunt Elise a couple of days before.
